Just a quick question about Brake Disks.
Rangey has it's MOT tomorrow and I've just been checking this and that prior to the test.
There seems to be an even groove, around the circumference of the disk - on both disks. When I first saw it, I assumed something had got in there and damaged it - but it's like it on both disks?
MOT fail item - or normal?
:y

Some pads have a slot in the friction material surface (almost like two pads on one backing). I guess that would cause a grove to form on the disk. :-/

funny u should ask m8
a m8 at work has the same prob on a vitesse he has i presumed it was a set of dodgy pads but when removed the pads they had a groove cut in them
might be worth look at yr pads to see

A groove in the pads wouldn't cause an inset groove on the disk, would they? :-/

MOT tend to test brake performance only. So if they work properly then it wont fail on the disk.
The worst they can do is advise you that they are not pretty :y

Would do if it's not contacting the disc.
EDIT: Sorry, think I read it wrong, you are saying groove (worn) and I was assuming ridge (raised). ::)
