Title: Learning to fibreglass
Post by: HolyCount on 07 February 2009, 18:16:06
As some of you might recall, I am building a buggy.  Usually on these the engine and rear end is covered by some sort of custom built tin box or mesh. The original maker of the particular frame I am using had some old (OLD!!) moulds for a fibreglass engine cover he was going to break up ( apparently he hated the design).

Anyway -- I managed to acquire these moulds, which seem in pretty good shape ( will need a damn good clean up though!). Now all I need to do is learn how to 'glass  ::)  Most I have ever used in this line before was body filler !!!!!

Can anyone recommend a decent instruction manual ( preferably in big print, lots of pictures and words of one syllable).

Out of interest, this is what the finished product should look like:

HC doesn't have a cover that's why he wants to make one out of the moulds he's acquired!
