i run its bigger cousin, the SPV M3100 with a slide out qwerty keyboard, get yourself a custom rom installed.

Mines called Black Satin, and its a tweaked version of Windows Mobile 6, which is a fast improvement on 5.

Try Opera mini for a browser, websites go via Operas own transcoder, which scales sites down for mobile devices. Its also got some handy settings for disabling images. Even on a GPRS connection i can surf the forum, as quickly as on my work PC on broadband!

That's right Stuart, it runs windows ce the previous version of windows mobile but it can be upgraded.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/index.php is a useful site for upgrade info, yours will be in the blue angel section as it's an HTC blue angel branded for orange.

Ahhh the HTC BlueAngel :)

Good phone, I had 3...

Custom built ROM to get rid of the branding is a *MUST* if you want to have it run at a good speed...

Only gripe is the ribbon cable can wear from the sliding of the keyboard, so it messes up the touchscreen input...  That and make sure its always fully charged, the internal battery can fail randomly and cause you to lose all your settings and numbers if its not charged proper, so also essential to make regular device backups!

Other than that, a good little(big) phone :)

Humm if its got an SD card slot should not be an issue? TB runs the same handset as me on WM5, and could not detect my 8Gb card... however my custom ROM did.

Its down to the ROM really, if it has the slot for an SD card there is no reason why it cannot in theory go to 32GB.

Even if not going sdhc, you can still get 4 & 8gb standard size sd's

They will take a 4gb normal SD card, 8gb ones are tricky tbh, hit&miss

SDHC won't work in the blueangle full stop though, hardware just doesn't support it, regardless of ROM

they are not sd as do not conform to sd std. your mileage with them varies...

Blimey getting confused now...whats the difference between sd and sdhc.

So is the general opion use a custom rom and if so where/what too go for.

And finaly will 2 Gb card be big enough for tomtom and backing up contacts ect ect.

SDHC is a way of giving higher capacity on an SD card, think we've established that yours doesn't support it.
Custom ROMs, without wanting to get into the copyright myre have a look round some of the sites we've already mentioned.
2 Gb will be plenty for tomtom, contacts, games, mp3's photos etc
IIRC I managed fine with a 1Gb card for all that and more.

Thats cool...got a spare 2 gig card at home (well will have when robbed out of the wife camera  ;D).

Re rom"s ok with you now so wont ask again...assumed it was something someone"s just tweaked. :y

No laughing please...but would it be possible too access online poker with the handset...the place i normally use requires you too download there software and then just run it each time too log onto there servers.

Or is that just way beyond the phones capability.... :-[
