ive come into a wee bit of dosh and am looking at upgrading my motor to a newer omega.
but is it possibly worth forking out to get my current one up to scratch? 2.5 gls 96 with 95K (done recent cambelt, water pump, stat and oil change)
below is a list of jobs to do (as i dont have the time it will all have to be done by a local garage who are reasonably priced)
rh full beam inop, condensor u/s+ leak at accumilator, heated drvs seat inop, no motor action on both seats, horrific misting problem, many pixels missing on display, no light switch illumination, r/h light unit does not elec adjust up/down, clonking drvs door strap, drvs door rq plastic insulation (breeze near my right leg !!) breather system clean, fault with heater system (cuts in out etc poss vac leak) side strip rhr needs replacing. i think thats about it !

a fair bit of work there albeit none of it serious, all depends on the level of £ you have to play with. :-/
-
well ive got £2,500 to spare but still not sure what way to go.

Buy another 5?

Well if it was me, I would not be spending any more on your current drive. A lot of money can easily be spent with no great benefit.
You can buy a very nice 2.5/3.0 Elite for 2k and that will be a completely different world to your current car.
-
or save all your money you came into, sell the Omega and get a 24v Senator ;) :D

Thought that was coming.... ;D

Bloody uni, I wish I was back home working on the Senny, oil & filter change. Going around the scappy finding bits for it.... bring on the weekend!! :D
Back on topic, 2.5k is a sizable amount of cash! - Should get a nice facelift for that, unless your after an estate?
I agree with LB66, don't spend any money on your current motor. The bits you describe, if fixed will not increase the value by the amount you spent.
Keep the money in a nice high interest online saver, and keep you look out for your ideal facelift Omega. When u see it, buy it!!
Remember even CD spec facelifts have great standard kit:
MID's
CD Player
Heated Mirrors, Seats,
Climate
Cruise can be added dirt cheap as well if 2.2,2.6,3.2 :y

£45 + VAT tends to be about the going rate for a diagnosis. Enabling stuff etc, or more complex work, tends to get charged as a minimum of 1hr - ie, around £85 + VAT

Isn't that what I've said before? ;) :y

£40 extra for "complicated" work - do you mean walking back to the PC and pushing a few extra buttons ;D
-

Or sometimes 'a drink' if you walk round the back and ask one of the spanner monkeys...

Thats complicated to some of the spanner monkeys - "Oh, can't do that, it needs the computer..."

Exactly - spent wisely that will get a decent facelift ( omega) :y
