My hard drive has packed in on my other laptop.
I believe it is a SATA?
How much should I pay for a replacement drive?
Not too bothered about size, but 60+ would be nice.
Not too IT literate.
Help? :-/

Thats the sort of money I was looking at as well.
Was it a shop you got it from, if so can you give me the sellers id/shop name?
If he has another i'd take it straight away, even one at half the capacity.

Remeber laptop bios is a long way behind desktop ones. Depending on age, you may hit a big fat 127G.
7200rpm may draw too much power or need extra cooling arrangements. Although, similar to the cowboy pc shops of the late 90s (and the bedroom hobbyist market), you may get it to initially work, if you are outside the specs, you could have reliability issues...

Thanks for the replies, but I have taken tommy's advice and purchased one of the afore mentioned drives.
If I cant get it to work in my laptop, I have already been told If I dont want it then I can forward it on for what it cost me.
Cheers Tommy.(and everyone else) :y

You're welcome
I've had no problems with mine but my laptop does sit on a cooling pad all the time anyway - not because of the drive but because laptops don't like laps :)
