Title: Back in black!
Post by: amigov6 on 07 February 2009, 17:09:15
Now the BM's sold i've jump started the Beastie, well the Cortina did, & she's out of my mates drive & home where she belongs. Swapped ins. back so she can be driven to a booked MOT @ my usual test stn. Clicky on the DVLA site for a disc & she can be driven Markey Marks for her fettle instead of a framed.
All we need is a new battery. I know she'll need  a high rated one 90/95 upwards? Any ideas on which is best & who to buy it from would be appreciated.

I got my last from vauxhall too. Mine is a 72 Amp/hr though, as was already on, I did have a bit of a wait for it though.

I simply bought one from Halfords a few months ago for the Mig and will be doing so again as the Galant is 'parked on the drive' Can't remember how much it was but iirc was fair enough price wise and is doing the job fine. :y

It's good size workshop. There's a small trailer behind the behind the Beastie & workbenches along one side. Plenty of fettling, spraying & more has gone on in there including a few members Migs. Cost me £39,950 in april 02...oh & that included a 3 bed house!
Markey Mark's built a similar size workshop behind his house where the Beastie's going soon for a top end rebiuld/upgrade! :y

She passed this afternoon, straight through with compliments on her condition & appearence. The tester said it's not often you see a car that's as loved as this one. Sums it up really. Straight home & bought an online tax disc. Hav'nt driven her properly for 3 months.
Feels good to be home.  :) 8-)

Hav'nt been far enough for a proper pop yet Tony. Got a few favourite A & B roads but as you know the big 6's need a bit of room to crack on properly! :y
