Title: Rugby
Post by: Debs. on 14 February 2009, 10:23:24
Evidently, there`s some kind of sporting competition being staged today: it seems that Wales will thrash emerge victorious over the English amateur-ish tourists! ::)

It gets worse -- right at the bottom of my family tree I have
Phillip III and Ferdinand III --- so the Spanish have crept in there too -- however, they can't don't play rugby !

This seems to be England's problem in most team sports .. the "team" depends on one or two good players -- when they are injured they are in the cr*p.  Back in the old days the whole team were good players.  Or am I sufferimng from selective memory syndrome ???

Problem is the modern game is now too hard on the players and due to this you have to have a lot larger pool of players than you should need

I think we could be a bit too confident. We need to exercise caution, although we are playing good rugby, the squad needs keep their feet on the ground and don't give under the weight of expectation, England can very easily spoil our game, they will be up for this game after the press they recieved this week and the welsh need to stay focused for the full 80 mins and kick our pelenties over . We did play well in Scotland and i be happy with  a 3 point win over England but hoping for loads more  :y

young England side, this only means good for the future, if only we could control giving away penalties.

BTW, I didn't see the game, but understand the ref didn't have a good one

He had a good game IMHO ... when England learn to a) Obey the rules , b) Listen to the referees warnings .. they will start to win ... they played really well .. but 6 penalties in their own half .. and 2 sin binnings .... after being told that the next similar infringement would be a card is nothing but stupidity.

Good rugby , poor discipline ... and don't blame the ref for that .. he doesn't make the rules .. he enforces them.

BTW .. I'm an avid England supporter ... I've also played the game a lot ...

Fair play, a vast improvement on last weeks Italian Job.
We definately missed Shane"Magic Daps"Williams at a few stages.
Sackey did well to win the race for the ball to score his try, Mark Jones is seriously quick in a straight sprint.

Jonno's decision to concentrate a fair amount of last weeks training on 14 man play due to the high level of yellow cards in the last few games looks to have been quite damage limiting.

Good game. The final whistle couldn't come soon e'nuf for me. ;D

Yup much better game than last week - even times when England looked like they remembered how to play some 1/2 decent rugby! :)

Good to watch, very enjoyable but I was right in thinking that a 3 points win was generous.

Roll on 2 weeks time! :y
