Title: fund day :-/
Post by: Loch View on 15 February 2009, 21:47:36
Did the driver's side wishbone today ( passenger side went smooth  :) )
Unfortunately the bolt that holds the ball joint was not prepared to give in. Tried about everything, wd40, heat, brute force so I eneded up getting out the angle grinder  >:(
Then while fitting the new wishbone, the bolt that goes in from the top fell in the umm... subframe? (dunno what that is called..lol) So tomorrow I can go fishing for that bl**dy bolt  :(

All in all a fun day.. :)

I had the bolt disappear down actually into the sub frame.  Which side was it?  I found on the nedarside I could get my hand into the space required but on the offside for some reason I couldent. So I jigged up a bolt holder from a coat hanger.  It was square on 3 sides with the forth open, I got the holes aligned with my hammer and used the tool to just drop the bolt in.  Easy!

If you need pics I am sure I still have it somewhere  :y

It's the offside. And the bolt seems to have vanished. I tried using a strong magnet but no luck.
I thought about buying a new bolt and leaving the old 1 in but that will probably give a rattle when driving  :-/

When I lost mine it went down into the subframe where the hole is for access to the bolt, try coming at it from different angles if you can.  But if you are pressed for time you could always get a new bolt

I would, but I think the bolt inside the frame will rattle while driving.
Guess I'll 'fish' a bit more  :)
