Title: the wife has just broken my car

Instead of going around a pot hole she drove over it and has broken o/s/r/ spring  ah bless ,so do i buy vx springs or after market ones

depends if you are happy with the car as it is
some people love the comfort  and others prefer a firmer more "sporty" ride.
if you fancy better cornering they go uprated
if not just replace the snapped spring

Oh bugger.....I know how you feel my shocks are kaput on the beemer i`m just waiting on my local mechanic mate to price em up for me and to arrange a time to replace.... :o :( :(

Ive been looking for the most expensive combinations i can find , i wont buy them but she doesn't need to know that  ;D

ive got a knackered back so i think its going to have to be comfort, that being the case I'm thinking that VX would be the way to go unless anyone has a better idea

already started Ive been after a Gilmore gun for a while, so Ive just mentioned it again

i don't believe she was driving at normal road speed when she broke the spring ,but i haven't mentioned that yet ,I'll let her think shes got away with it for a while  ;)

Don't go genuine Vx... Get aftermarket pattern ones :y :y :y

I got aftermarket springs for the back of SWMBO's Astra as Vx's prices were sky high. Only difference, apart from the massive difference in price, is that the after market were not progressive like the OE were ie not tapered in diameter at either end.

Preferably replace both as a pair.
One new spring and one old springs is not ideal, due to wear on old spring.

I`ve gotta take the wheels off the beemer in a bit and find out which type of shock was stuck on her as the local stealer gives 3 options for her sport,luxury or standard good job its nice and sunny today.... ;)
