Title: Thieving gits
Post by: Nickbat on 21 February 2009, 16:50:01
Had my SIP laser mitre saw stolen on Thursday night from my garden shed. Neighbour also had a few bits taken.

OK, my fault. Neither shed, nor side gate were locked. Also my CCTV camera was not on. I used to record on a LP video tape, but after getting through about three tape players (naturally the heads wear out when used for 8 hours recording every day), I didn't bother to replace the last one.

Today I found a way of reading the camera signal through my USB TV card. I bought some software online which gives me motion detect and scheduling  :y, so my CCTV is back in business. Oh, and I found the keys for the shed padlock, so that's on again now.  :-[ :-[

(Don't anyone mention horses and stable doors)  >:( ;)

Its happened to me a long while ago.., and I've not had a shed since.  I didn't lose anything of great value but still couldn't afford to lose it.  I've not had a pressure washer since either (the item that was taken).

Hope the revamped security works.  Unfortunately, the one time we had a spate of break ins and it was filmed, the creatures who did it wore hoody's and nothing of use could be seen.

I didn't say before, but it not only happened to us, but using a pair of garden shears, taken from the shed, they leavered open a locked window and broke into our house! :'( :'( :'( :'(

I did that once on a property i was doing up.....i wasnt living there and once the neighbour nextdoor said she heard voices and moving about generally outside the property late at night.....i was in the middle of having an extension built so security wasnt very good......so on the inside underneath a window frame that didnt have a pvc unit in it......i hammered about 50 6" nails into a piece of plywood.....and left it carelessly spike side up  ::) ;D

I primarily set my cameras up because of our nosey neighbour (I'm sure every street has one), we affectionately call her Mrs Bucket! Then we had the guy next door move in. Worse than Bucket, own the street (well thinks he does) and gets away with everything cause he pulls the race card at the slightest little thing! So mine is for evidentiary purposes. As a result of his 'getting away with everything' ways I've learned all the laws and regulations to do with CCTV just to protect myself and my family. When you get a snotty PCSO telling me I can't have a camera pointing at the front of my house when 'he' and 4 of his mates are standing there with iron bars telling me to come outside or he'll trash my cars, then this PCSO has told me on the phone they won't come out because 'I'm spying' on him!! Thats when you can say WTF! It's now in the hands of her (full time police) Sargant and I'm awaiting his comment. Not a dig at you Mike but I'm at the point of turning the cameras off and crippling the bloke :-X

ive in the middle of doing my m8s garage.im putting another roof on top of his garage roof and a loft hatch in it. ive fitted to frame ledge and brace doors the only way of getting in there now is by driving a tank through it. i dont know what hes up to, why he wants it doen like this but ive never seen a garage 2" out of plumb, all 4 corners are different heights on my laser level. and hes getting cctv on his garage when its finished

Welung I know exactly how you feel got a substance abuser who is continually scratching our cars, spent yesterday pm looking at cctv, think your last solution is a good one but dare you do it? Iknow I would and get caught its the only thing that stops me >:(. Can't see why the law sits onnthe side of the scum. My theory is "If youve got nothing to lose you've got everything to gain" and that's how they always appear to get away with it.

its not fair is it that they get away with it
the t**ts round here broke our front fence
they have nicked the lead off the porch roof
and even done drugs down the side of my house and left the needles there. ive got 3 young kids i would hate to think what would hapen if they picked one up
i'm forever going down there of a morning just to check
thats why ive got all the camera's up

1) Make sure you have an alibi

2) Kettle of boiling hot water will move a druggie

3) Do not get seen
