That people can get away with this (http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-News/Disabled-CBeebies-TV-Presenter-Cerrie-Burnell-Accused-Of-Scaring-Children-After-Complaints/Article/200902415227818?lpos=UK_News_News_Your_Way_Region_7&lid=NewsYourWay_ARTICLE_15227818_Disabled_CBeebies_TV_Presenter_Cerrie_Burnell_Accused_Of_Scaring_Children_After_Complaints_) sort of discrimination! >:( >:(

Eh? Am I missing somthing?

i read that this morning, disgusting, and a total embaressment for the presenter invloved. bet that didnt do much for her confidence either.
-
If kids cant notice the strings on puppets, how can they notice that she only has one full arm?
I think its the parents that are "scared" not the kids >:(

Narrow minded to say the very least. Kids accept people that are 'different', maybe ask a question or 2 and then get to the important task of playing, I doubt any of these kids though any more about it after they first realised she had a hand/fore arm missing.
-
my kids think she is great
my daughter dances along with her and my 2 boys will happily sit and watch
nothing wrong with her
its wrong that they are complaining
-
Arm, or lack of, apart, she and her co-host are not a patch on Chris and Pui
-
From what i have seen/heard kids have no preconseptions(sp) or hang ups - wish adults (me included) could be so open minded

Doh! :-[
As for the story, I heard this on the radio today and I was shocked! To the presenter in questions credit, it seemed like she really didnt care that there were some small minded people out there! She just wanted to do a good job and her disability should have nothing to do with it.
-
Well im sorry but i dont like watching TV when she"s on...lets be fair its just another ""lets be seen too be equal"" from the programme makers.
Oh and my kids watch the show she"s on and i doubt for one second its her presenting skills that got her the job.

i work for a well known disability charity, and i generally find that kids dont care much about a persons disability, adults are so much more narrow minded.

i agree
if adults are narrow minded it will soon pass down to the kids which is then when the bullying starts

With your name not surprised !

Anyone remember Sally James (TISWAS) or Jenny Handley (Magpie)? ;D
Seriously tho, whilst agree that jobs should be given on merit (and I havent seen the presenter in question so cant comment on her abilities there) kids dont "see" disabilities or colour like adults so reaction of people to her disability is THEIR hangup not their kids. By the way , I always thought that Justin in "something special" with his sign language and inclusion of so called "special needs" kids was excellent.

Nobody is perfect...not even me :D.
Seriously though, the BBC should tell those complainers where to go.

I agree furthermore kids are very accepting of what they see
i think at most it would make the child ask their parent why she had no hand if they even noticed at all
