Just got back from a week away in Cornwall. What a fantastic place! Never been before but will be going again.
Went to Lands End, Newquay and various other places.
Spotted a couple of miggys too - One in particular N***ENP on a car park at Asda in Bodmin. If it was you sorry for staring at you a lot. Was deciding whether to come over and say hello but as I wasn't in my miggy decided not to.
Anyway its nice to be back and to have internet again. I have missed this place! ;)

Fair comment... if you're going 300 miles south, then you expect the weather to go 300 miles north to compensate! If its anything like any other hols i've had in the UK, the weather has always been better at home for that week...

Isn't it annoying when that happens! :( :y :y

Most of those are shot on my video camera stills mode, but some of those contain 7 or 8 frames merged together
-
From the photos posted above by I recognise Helford, Durgan, Swanpool and Maenporth. Great area.
-
No Swanpool
My mum, and my gran were born in Durgan, my grans dad and grandfather were gardeners (including head gardener for Glendurgan)
Beach photo - same girl in twice - stitched together.
I expect a few members will remember the small noisy boys (who drunk all the coke at Newent 2007)

On your Cornish travels, if you see this anywhere, think of me .....

My sister in law lives in Falmouth,Nice town with some good beaches near to them, gets a bit quiet in winter though!
-
Believe me we need the quiet in the winter. It's manic in the summer and our roads were designed for cart horses not thousands of cars. Trying to get around in the summer is a nightmare
When I was a kid I remember a train that used to start from Paddington had a couple of stops and finished in Penzance (can't actually go any further). Not unusual you might think but this train was a bit like the Euro tunnel. You drove your car onto it in London and wherever and went into the normal carriage to relax. Arrive in Panzance, drive your car off and away you go for your hols. The car platform is still there in Penzance station

With all the members with family or connections in Cornwall and the ones who live here, a meet in the summer might be good?

would love to

Maybe St Agnes Rugby and Football Club Car Park and rent their bar?
-
Towed the caravan to Looe a few years back - pretty enjoyable holiday. Liked Newquay best though!
-
A number of football or rugby clubs that have a bit of land (obviously not their main pitch!!) would be glad of the trade in the summer months
-
October 1978 - somewhere between Dobwalls and Bodmin on A38 - but definitely the middle of nowhere. Austin 2200 6 cylinder "landcrab". 11 pm at night - 6 week old daughter in car on way to St Agnes - Oil light on!!
Police took me quite a way to find a garage open to buy oil and back to car. Limped to destination. Needed a new short motor - fitted in an old tin mine - Wheal Kitty I think. (Problem with that engine was very short stroke piston I recall)
Ah - those were the days. Had to borrow an Allegro for a while.
