Just wondered if anyone's been through the London Ambulance assessment procedure? ::)
-
Not the London one, but I know someone who has gone through the Hamshire one.
I might be able to help with any questions...... :-/

Looking for the inside track are you?
-
The main thing I'm thinking about is the format of the assessments, are they multi choice, true/false, essay questions. Would just be nice to know what to expect...
I imagine it's slightly different between different services, but I don't know...

Do you already have your paramedic degree?

Do you already have your paramedic degree?
No, but LAS offer a 3 year student paramedic course... I've got an assessment day with them tomorrow... :)

From their site:
If you are shortlisted, you will be asked to complete a series of assessments. These include numeracy, verbal reasoning, infection control (for which you will receive pre-learning materials), Highway Code and map-reading.
If you pass these assessments, you will be invited to an interview, and from here you will be offered a fixed-term contract for a period of three years, during which you will undertake your training to become a paramedic. You will be offered permanent employment subject to successful completion of the three-year training programme.
Not bad money either! :y
If you have any problems with map reading I am a ninja instructor and can help you with any questions there ;) It can seem a bit daunting but I also have all the army learning material :y
