I suspect 2L auto would be dog slow and probably quite thirsty.

They're okay, but could do with a little more grunt.
Saying that, I ran one for several years, and it was Mrs Sethsmate's first auto - and she loved it! Locally, it achieved around 24mpg, so realistically we were quite happy, and also towed a 22ft caravan with no probs either. It's still going strong with it's subsequent (happy) owner too!

I find mine fine in all honesty - only reason i'm looking to upgrade is better towing power. Tows my pikey-wagon (1960 Cheltenham) fine but struggles with a car trailer on the back..
27-33mpg and no problems pulling out onto main roads (we like kickdown..)...and mine's an Estate. Book 0-60 is about 12s - sounds slow but quick enough for everyday driving. I have quick cars for the weekend..
Wife's insurance when learning was pretty good (even on a Scimitar GTE 3.0) - took a jump when she passed her test though...as they all do. She also found driving big cars easier for her TBH - must be the more relaxed driving experience! She's not tried the Mig yet but loved her E28 525e. Regret selling that...

Sold our 2.0 CD auto facelift in September last year, and as our first Omega I have to say we loved it.
Wasnt that slow, totally reliable plus the mpg was up to 39 on a run and cheap to service and maintain.
Maybe towing something it wouldnt be ideal but as an everyday (non sporty) car I think they are fine.

Looks like my Mrs will be learning (well more practising) in a 2.5 auto....just hope at 5ft she can reach the pedals. ;D

Not that bad, been poorly so swmbo has been taking me to a couple of appointments, and she is driving the Mig at the mo. As a passenger, just pottering about locally it is so smooth, and where there is no need for speed then it is fine, and you can always press the sport button. OK hardly sporting, but very usable.
