Title: Six Nations
Post by: Turk on 28 February 2009, 22:18:56
Next weekend Wales need to beat Italy by a clear 18 points more and conceed less than 5 points than Ireland conceed to Scotland, to avoid having to beat Ireland by "x" amount instead of just a win, to take the Six Nations championship.

France are also still in the running for the championship and need to beat England and Italy by 20 points more than Wales beat Italy and Ireland and conceed no more than than 9 points than Wales do against Italy and Ireland to win the championship.

(er...I think I've worked it out right :D).

At the risk of a massive backlash isnt it good seeing England getting beaten Again .... after all the commentaters think England should win at everything .  And heavens forbid the English football team getting beat ...its almost against the law  ::)

Well, less aggro off the pitch at least.  ;D

No interest in "the beautiful game" at all...except when I watch a game for 5 mins or so, then I get into it.
Don't ask me about the off-side rule tho'.  Not a clue !  :-?

Well, last year we beat Italy 47-8, so not too optimistic, but Irelands 38-9 win over Italy this season was very flattering to the Irish. The score didn't reflect the game at all. Italy lead until 1 minute from half time.
Then again, Irelands 14-13 win today should have told of a cliff hanger of a game, but it was a poor game. O'Gara's kicking wasn't on form at all.

Either way, if we get a good score line over Italy then the Wales v Ireland will be the Six Nations and Triple Crown decider.

If England hadn't given away that last penalty through petulance then they'd have won. The camera panned to Johnno after one of the yellow cardings and he was clearly saying "Oh FFS !!"
Ok, I support two teams, Wales...and anybody that plays against England,  ;) ...but I do like Johnno.

As an England supporter I think that sort of thing is very silly, personally I like to see the team which deserves to win - win.

I also think that the average England fan does not think this way about any of the other 5 nations.

Yes I did see the smiley - but this isn't football.

In all honesty you should be a Wales & British Lions fan, and not have a go at any other team except the Austrailians ;D

TBH this year England are not good, if they lose they lose, if a team beats them fairly well done to them.

Personally I think it would be nice to see Wales get it but I don't want to see anymore England defeats, as the nearest neighbour I would rather see them win than say the French - but if the French play well........

TBH England relied too much on Wilkinson - without him it is a bit of a shambles.

Out of interest what did the average Welsh man think of the 2003 World Cup Final

I agree about the media.

Personally I have no interest in Football - coming from a big Rugby area and living in another big one.

I like motor sports most though.

BBC News in particular. You can tell they're not happy about running the story but have no choice. Last years Grand Slam was a prime example. Briefly mention it, then on to anything else, a Home Counties Tiddlywinks champion or something.

And I thought good on the Welsh - but that is the way most people actually think.

I mean you are Welsh people not aliens, and where is Wales - stuck on the same island, they are British and we all need to muck in together, the more British teams doing well the better.
