Lovely idea, but does a significant, economically viable, market exist for such a beast? :-? :-?
The car market is struggling to clear the car stocks it has already, whilst placing plants on short term working, and we have heard recently about the possibility that GM could rid themselves of Vauxhall/Opel. ::) ::) :'( :'(
It will be a very brave manager to authorize the production of a Lotus Insignia! :o :o

The last recession in about 1992 ...................took it's toll on Lotus Carlton sales....................after all £48,000.............for a Vauxhall..................we paid £41,000 for a 3 bed house in 1991. :y :y

At the time of the Elsie, Vauxhall owned Lotus. That's not the case now.

In addition to what has already been said, will Lotus themselves survive "the crisis" anyway? :-? :-?
