Getting back on Wednesday. Will have been 6 weeks. Miggy was parked on the street. Do you think it will still be there? Will the battery be dead? (Remember I can only get in the boot with the key, so left the seat back unlatched just in case.) Will the tire be flat? (Had to add air every 2 weeks, shop couldn't find leak though.)
Will I be crawling in the boot, thumbing for a jump, and changing the tire, all in sleet/snow?!? ::)
-
why can you only get in though the boot? - Or did i miss a thread? :-/
If air has been going in every 2 weeks, i suspect the tyre will be very soft. But not flat.
Not sure on mine, but my battery dies after about 4 weeks.... but then i do have a slow drain from something.
I'll be mega impressed if it starts on first turn :y

Driver's door lock doesn't work. Tried lubing it, may have been changed. No juice=no remote locks >:(

Thats will be flat - both battery and tyre...

Yeah, well what are these forums for? :D
It's what I'm expecting really. I will be surprised if the car is gone, and royally tweaked if it has been vandalised. I have a mate that has already offered to jump it and bring a 12v pump. It will be what it will be, and the weather will only make it more interesting. ::)
>:(
;D

I have one of those portable jump starters and a 12v compressor if yiur stuck, and I aint a million miles away...
-
You could have left it with me, I'd have given it the odd run out.
Anyway if you're stuck; you've got my number.............
-
As i can't offer any help good luck :y

so left the seat back unlatched just in case.
I must remember to do that before I go away, my drivers lock doesn't work at the moment either.

Apparantly they are cheap to own. Just a few beers and cheap beans and they'll run forever ;D Make sure you get the one with the "gadget arms" - sooo useful for hard to reach places :y

Update, car looks fine if covered in snow. Tire not too low to get to ASDA. However, battery completely dead, every electron on the wrong side of the pool. Got a small 12v battery that I may try jumping into the light in the boot to see if I can power the remote instead of making an impression of Tunnie by trying to crawl through the seat back. Long term I need to either fix the door lock or find a way of hooking up to the battery without unlocking the car.

Where abouts are you in Warwickshire?
If you're not too far away I could come over and test my new Aldi jump start.

Sorry I couldn't be more help :(
-
who what where why? - Someone mention me :-/ ;D
Glad its good ok then Theo, I thought the tyre would be very soft rather than flat.
I keep wondering if i would fit though the ski hatch ::)
-
So you're in OK, just won't start now due to shafted battery?

Well, can you Tunnie? Bet you have tried by now......oh perhaps not....think you got your sennie with you.....bet you try when your next at home tho ;D

Yeah, we tried jump starting it from mine, but no good (mind you we didn't have the best set of leads).
He has someone coming to help around about now....

Well the first attempt failed. Battery still flat, although jumping into the boot light worked a treat and didn't have to pull a Tunnie. Cables dodgy, another mate coming later with jump pack hopefully. Should I bring the battery inside to thaw in the meantime?
Think you might need a new one now :(.....lead acid batteries dont like being left flat..esp if not a new one...it might charge up ok and start the omega but i suspect it wont hold its charge for very long anymore :(
I had that happen on one of my cars.....ok the battery was a few years old.....but it always started ok everyday....it got parked up for 3 weeks....result flat battery....then would never start without a booster pack on it.....even after running for a few hours :(

We'll soon find out. Got it running, took it for a short trip. Still have the jump pack for the morning.

Similar battery problem with one of my classics. I forgot to disconnect it when I laid it up a few months ago. When I went to it yesterday, it was totally dead. It did jump start though but I've had the battery on charge for 36 hours and it's still not out of the red on the hydrometer but lighting all the lights on my charger :-? Fortunately only 2years into a 3year guarentee so going back tomorrow for a nice new one :y
Cheers Jim
