Title: Missing 3-year old girl
Post by: Nickbat on 04 March 2009, 22:20:56
I have just received this email from my niece:

A 3-year-old girl named Reachelle Marie Smith is missing.
You never know where this e-mail could end up and I'm not going to stop passing this one around if it means a little girl can be found!!!

Please spread this picture far and wide....You just never know someone you know might know her!

I assume the appeal is genuine, but obviously cannot guarantee that.

The message footer contains contact details in Woking Surrey (including phone number). I have decided against copying it on to the forum.

I would suggest if anyone has information, they contact the police.

So why is this not on the National News then?
Seems rather serious to me. :(

Hmm. You've got me thinking. I'm wondering whether it might not be a custody thing. The name on the bottom of the original email was male, so it's conceivable that the child has been taken by a spouse/partner. I wish we had a resident plod who could confirm whether this was indeed a genuine case. If not, then I'll ask the admins to delete it as, tragic though custody battles can be, this is not the place to get involved.

Perhaps I was too hasty. Being a parent of two young 'uns, I sort of dived in a bit.  :-[

As a parent myself, I can understand your concern. Custody battles though best to steer well away from them if you can :)

EDIT 2:there is a girl called Reachelle Marie Smith missing in the states and she has been mising for almost 3 years

The email with woking details is a hoax - http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/missing/reachelle.asp

although the picture is different, the chances of another 3year old with the exact same name going missing is slight

Edit: it is a hoax another debunking site has the same picture

Thanks Big Al.

So there really is a missing girl with this name, but she went missing in the US and would be about 6 now?

If it's genuine i hope she's found unharmed & returned to her family. If it's a hoax it's bang out of order.
Even my sick sense of humour does'nt run that far. :(
