Bit of a long shot - but does anyone have the instructions to replace the keyboard on an HP Pavilion N5000 series notebook. I can get the part off ebay but not sure what to do when all screws removed and casing does not come off.

a quick look, I can't find the service manual, so .........
generally keyboards are held in by spring loaded clips, and/or screws on the bottom, but there is another way ........ Contact HP and ask the question.

if you start here, enter the model no, and go thro a few screens, yo can then email them and ask the question. They may try and get you to send it in for repair, tell them you already have a replacement keyboard. They are a bit cr*p sometimes but will generally give you the answer eventually. :y

Try this http://www.ronstultz.com/knowledge/Documents/Hewlett%20Packard%20Pavilion%20N5190%20Laptop%20-%20Disassembly.htm
or this http://www.uofr.net/~greg/hardware/hp_pavilion_n5430_disassembly.html
or this http://www.bixnet.com/hppasenohadr.html (this last one is actually how to replace the hard drive, but you have to remove the keyboard to do it).
