Title: oh i do like freebies...
Post by: tunnie on 25 January 2007, 16:01:07
Ran out of storage for my music, its now at 89.30Gb's.. so i need more storage!

Already have several external hard drives, a 250Gb Western Digital 'MyBook' also a 250Gb LaCie drive.

Decided to get another MyBook as it runs cooler and turns on and off with the PC unlike the LaCie... went online to my favourite supplier. They had a sale on Yay!!

They had a 320Gb MyBook for £63, my mate also needed extra storage but he wanted the fire wire version.

To save money on P&P I ordered them together on credit card... and was charged correct amount.

few days later m8 goes actually i want different one! (not available on my fav online store)  >:(

Typical! - So I rings up and says can i cancel the MyBook 320 Preimum Edition (fire wire) - They go yep, thats done and removed. You won't receive it and you will get a refund for the other drive.

Ok i thought great.... today a nice man delivered me TWO boxes  :o

Opened on, there is my 320 USB i ordered. Open the other, and there is the 320Gb Firewire version!!  :o :o

Checks me online account, and sure enough I have a refund for that drive.

So been charged for 1 but got 2, and the second is worth more!

I am just going to keep stun and see what happens over the next week or so, see if they noitce  ::)

IIRC the goods still belong to the company but IF you send them a letter you can ask them to collect within 30 days or they become legally yours.

But if it was me I'd keep it in the box for a while and see what happens.

Woman in work got a freestanding cooker last year with a dent (no not Bob) and they sent a replacement, but forgot to pick up the old one.  She flogged it 6m later!

nice!  :)

Thats my plan, its still here and sealed not opened it yet. I cancelled the other drive on Monday, so they had plenty of time to remove it from their system.

A couple across the road from me went to Currys to look at fridges, chose one, asked if it would fit in the back of his hatchback, if so, they would have it.

A couple of the staff carried it out it out, tried it with the packing on, wouldn't go in.

Took it back inside, unpacked it, one lad came back out with it, put it in the back, shut the hatch, and said 'Cherrio then see you'.

They sat there for 15 mins, nothing happened, so they drove off.

Currys minus one fridge.....

By the way, I do not condone that sort of behaviour.......

 ;D ;D ;D ;D
