Title: A tight squeeze
Post by: Marks DTM Calib on 10 March 2009, 11:11:59
As many of use probabaly know, the waiting lists for 'exec' cars has always been some what artificle unless something truely obscure was ordered (like a BMW with a radio or ski hatch!)

Well, some of these cars are stored at Bruntingthorpe (BMW being one who use this facility) and at the monent there is one hell of a LOT of unsold cars there!)

So much so that it proved tricky to tow a certain 'big bird' to the engine test pan!

The good news is that enough money has been pledged to XH558 to keep it going for another year!

I suspect performing the engine test right there would relieve BMW of their headache!

Good to hear XH558 is flying again this year. :y

Thats just the tip of the iceberg!

This is a view from last year (or maybe earlier)......they have now filled the north side fully plus the ends of the runway and are fillign the south side peri tracks!

Crikey! There'll be a few mildewey repmobiles on sale soon :o

We've got a similar thing going on with airliners:

 :o :(

same here.. Many Factories in [ch304]stanbul,Bursa,Eski[ch351]ehir stopped..

and fields are full of unsold cars..

But questions remain unanswered in my mind :

* why govt dont drop the 60-70 % tax on those new cars ?   :-? thats for local made..imports over 2 liter  have tax ratios of % 110 -120
* why factories dont drop the prices a bit ?  :-?

stocking cost , when currencies are going rocket high

is proven to be deadly for production sector where many parts are

import.. :( :(

And why I cant buy a cheap Beamer ;D or Subaru ;D

I'll get me a coat ;D
