Is it an urban myth that someone just mentioned again to me or not?
Does the petrol can nozzle printed on your fuel gauge point to which side your petrol cap is? Seems a bit ridiculous and I always wondered if this was a wind up. Not one to be gullible usually, but its got me wondering now... :)

After extensive gossip with others, appears to be true....
Nozzle on the pump indicating which side the filler is on??

OMG I've had a Fiesta as a company car for two years now and done over 115,000miles in it and I only noticed the arrow after reading this!!! :-[

aint so
the wifes mmazda 2 has the filler on neraside but the gauge is on the ffside but with an arrow pointing nearside :y
-
Just putting my tupence worth in. The symbol on my old '95 XJ6 pointed to the 'wrong' side of the car too... :y
-
down to the maker, i would think unlikely down to cost, why have two dash part numbers when one will fit all? Only usefull on hire cars, or where regular users are not familiar with the vehicle. I know which side mine is, so dont care. :-)
