Yep very nice, but I like the P6 anyway, have had 2 and was recently looking.  Not really into the custom scene but I often and a dream of a P6 with Bubble arches on and appropriate wheels and tyres, in B.R. Green ofcourse...... :y :y :y

:y  But a re-spray would be high on the list of "must do".  In fact, until the colour was changed, it wouldn't see daylight.

Always liked the P6 ... would live with this one -- resprayed and having lost that spare wheel :)

As it stands .. YUCK

Resprayed and the spare wheel in its correct location .... probably.... :y

Making a two door car from a 4 door in this way is utterly ridiculous, and looks naff...
Ideally, half the back doors should have been used to create bigger front doors, plus all necessary rework to the rear side panels...
Of course this would be extremely expensive and hard work, but not impossible...

Just buy a two door convertible in the first place, just wouldnt be a Rover...

I rather like the wheel on the boot on a P6, but having looked at this again, on this occasion I think you might be right...... I love the colour.... :y :y

I'd gladly have a standard P6B without the custom bits but that one is horrible!
A lot of P6s did have the spare wheel on the boot by the way!

They need stringing up for doing that to a P6
There's a 2 door P5(B?) drop head coupe I've seen at Tatton etc that I'm sure has had the doors extended to the kind of size a 2 door would normally have ...... it looks the part.

It's as bad as the P5B Campervan that's knocking about.

Thanks for that great information! A very interesting read.  Apart from the P6 estates, I just loved the V8 saloons at the time, which Traffic Police used extensively, and often wished I could afford one, even with their faults, when driving my brand new Escort Mk1. :-* :-* :-* ;)

p6 are lovely, never forget my dad's 2000tc with its chrome grille and spare wheel on boot. spent most saturdays setting the twin carbs up to keep it from drinking fuel like a v8.

Ah, those were the days; you could do so much with carburetors and did!! ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;)

No silly electric management system then.  You could have real fun, or give yourself severe frustration when getting the fuel and air mix settings wrong!! ;D ;D ;D ;)

True -- but dwarfed by the rear window and roofline -- this one is just too proud of the boot with no roof to set it off ---- if it was to stay there it would have to be set into the boot lid.

Now that is a good idea...... about 75% set in and a nice round painted cover over the rest..... :y with some chrome on ;) ;)

I had a 1974 P6 3.5. It was mint throughout. The only thing that let it down was that it dropped out of third (manual box).

Oh yes, and it was bright ORANGE.  :-[ :y
