1970 Vauxhall Viscount 3.3litre straight six engine/autobox...
Made from 1966 to 1972 I think...
Viscount is the "executive" version (like Elite is to Omega)..
Other models badged as Vauxhall Cresta...

 :)

First car i ever got a drive in was a beaten-up old Firenza - now THAT was a classic coupe - shame it had a floor pan similar to Fred Flintstones rounabout!!! ;D ;D

I took my driving test in one very similar.  I had learnt in a driving school mini, but half an hour before my test the gearbox threw a wobbly and the instructor produced this monster for me to drive.  They did offer to teach me for free until I passed if I failed this time!!!

I was so terrified of the car I completely forgot I was on a test and more by luck than judgement I passed !!  Didn't even have my broken matchstick stuck in the rear window rubber to guide me reversing around corners !!!!

Total class. The Viscount was the posh Cresta (Ghia?)
My first car @ sweet 17 (not that long ago!!) was a 1965 Victor 101 in 2 tone green. CRU ***C. Can't remember the numbers! 8-). Could cram in more mates than it had seats & it stunk of Blue Stratos!!!!
