Title: Bumper postage - how much and where
Post by: mkaminski100 on 19 March 2009, 21:03:32
I need to post a PUG 106 bumper. It's about 2m long and weights 10-20kg.
What courier company is the cheapest and how much do I have to pay to send it?
Thanks

Best check but all the ""standard"" online couriers state max length 1.2m.

I used this company for delivery of a 2.3m kayak

http://www.interparcel.com/  :)

Using the quote & book on line it works out as cheap as £6.99 + VAT for 2 day delivery.

Thanks, but does it really have to boxed? It looks like it's very easy and straightforward but they will charge extra if a parcel is not in accordance  with their rules.
I tried real dimensions and it looks like it's on the edge and sometimes it shows more parcel options (including one for 8.88) and sometimes only with guaranteed for 50 and over.

My kayak came wrapped just in bubble wrap by our very own Holy Count - no box.

You do need to protect it, but you could "wrap" it with bits of boxes free from the supermarket and some parcel tape.

This would keep the dimensions down too  :y
