I really like the look of this, but was surprised to find it was overpriced according to Parkers :o

2.3 T5 that would shift!!
Does seam high for a 1998 R, remember an Omega from that year is around 1k... and the 3.0 would be just as fast

T5 is a LOT faster than a 3.0 Omega! :)
My Carlsson allegedly had the same power output (somehow I think it was more) but it was so much faster than a 3.0, even a manual one.
It's not the 0-60 that is impressive, it is the acceleration in gear that really gets you! :D
But at 5k?? No chance. I would have said 3k for the coupe and 2.5k for the saloon.

Yep. Just had a look in the 'trader and they start around £3k for autos. Like the big meegas, I'd prefer manual. (Head down)

Agree 100% ;)

Agree, that would destroy even a 3.0 manual Omega. I really don't find the MV6 that fast, compared to the 1.8 Focuses and the like that clutter our road yes, but there are loads of faster motors out there. It will be easy to remap for lots more power too, being that it's turbocharged.
I also agree that it's overpriced, it does look in good condition but it's 9 years old and that colour will do nothing for resale value. Nice car but it's well over double what I paid for my dual-fuel MV6 of the same age! I also suspect it's front wheel drive (or at best a crappy Haldex wannabe AWD system), which is a BIG negative for me in a car of that size with that much power.

Says in the parkers review that the engine is too powerful for the car.......but still fun :y

For an R reg motor it's in great shape - future classic status must be pushing up the asking price ;)

2.5k for your MV6? Impressive!

It was less than that, I can't remember how much exactly as it was over a year ago now (around 2k, possibly slightly less), but yeah I think it was a very good price considering it ticked all the boxes I was looking for -- 3.0 manual retail version MV6 with a proper SGI dual-fuel conversion. The car was damn near immaculate when I bought it, minor exceptions being the broken glovebox handle (fixed myself for free), some minor rust on the bottom of the doors and tatty wheels, both of which are common on Omegas and I will sort eventually. Considering the dual-fuel installation was £1800 and it just had £8-900 worth of servicing and repairs done in the year prior to me buying it, I think I got a good deal :y.
When you consider a car like this costs around 15p/mile in petrol at 27 MPG and having a dual-fuel car roughly halves that if you run on propane all the time, it can potentially save you £2000 -- the cost of the car disregarding servicing/repairs --in under 27,000 miles. Makes it easy to understand why I have the Omega as a second car even though it's not exactly economical per-se :)

'tis a nice car, and yes quick but as said overpriced and i wonder what mileage it has :'(
