Absolutly nothing, zip, zilch
Didn't want to know it, even though we were considering buying a Insignia elite sport tourer.
The Saab dealer offered £200
It's now in the sale section here and will be on flea bay tonight.
We bought the Saab 95 turbo estate, 1.9 diesel, metalic paint, full leather, xenons etc, pre-registered in Jan 30 miles on the clock (and we did most of that test driving it!) for less than £17K
We will pick it up on the weekend and I will be driving the Galaxy from now on, so the Mig has to go.
I'll still be around here though, best forum ever! :y

They probably didn't want it on their forecourt for even a few minutes as it would remind potential customers how good Vx cars once were and the Omega in particular!! ;D ;D ;D ;)

That's a shame because when i got to the dealer on saturday, the first place i found to park was right on the front row of the used display ;D

Obviously not too keen to sell you a new motor :-/
-
They should of offered £1000 under that ECOFLEX ~Scheme theyre doing :o
-
Vauxhall by us have an old Volkswagen with the exhaust lying on the floor, it has a sign on it saying "We paid £1000 for this as a part exchange".
I suggest you shop around... It is a buyers market at the moment!

The omega is not old enough, and I'm not sure if you can trade against an insignia.

I guess the dealers don't think they'll shift used cars like Omega's in the current climate. Most people are looking to buy fuel efficient shopping trolleys these days :'(
Bit of a PITA if you are trying to sell your own Omega but good news if you want to buy one.
-
I think that we would be daft to sell our Omegas at the minute, and things wont improve.
I think we all know our Omegas are worth more to us than they are worth in cash.
I have a lovely 2001 MV6 2.6 auto saloon and paid £1250 for it in September last year (2008).
Even if I wanted to sell it, I would be lucky to get that back and what could I ever replace it with for the same money that would look as nice or be such a complete car for me as a driver and as practical as it is for my family
:y
-
That's my dilemma at the moment spent a few hundred quid on my TD estate (a few bit's need doing), or a few thousand on replacing with something that will not be half as good as load lugger or towing.

Dont be tempted to part with your omegas for pennies. Even though I dont have one nowadays, mine was one of the best cars I ever owned. I just wish they weren't so bloody maintenance hungry or I'd have another tomorrow.

There'll come a time when the value bottoms out and prices will rise again ;) ...... won't there? :-/

Couldnt agree more,by far the most unreliable car that I have ever owned in the last 30 years, very much doubt that I will ever buy another one.

eh? Omegas? :-?

change oil every other tank of petrol(well almost) and clean breather system with monotonous regularity, just to try to get the oil to stay inside the engine.
The sort of strict maintenance regime that was common in the 50,s and 60,s,when it was accepted that you spent almost as much time working on a car as you did driving it.
Funnily enough I owned the Sennie twice as long as I have had the Omega and apart from regular oil/filter changes the only thing that ever went wrong with it was a relay had to be changed.

My previous car was an '89 Senator 3.0L CD. Owned for six years, only needed pads, oil, filters plugs, routine maintenance stuff...
Bought an Omega cos chassis parts are very much the same, so expecting a relatively sturdy and reliable car...Until reading forums like this one, indicating so many faults and maintenance jobs centering around the engine in particular...!!
Ive had my Omega about a month, so in fairness will give it a chance, but so far my problems seem related to bad quality DIY, such as things left loose, and incorrectly finished... :-/

What you haven't had steering pump go, ABS ECU,MAF,Headlight washers, CATs and exhaust and rear shockers TWICE as well. Sounds like trouble free motoring to me.

Vow, that is scary. I am already spending more that I paid for the mig and cannot imagine to think it will need more. Love the car but my purse hurts a lot..
This is my last attempt, if it stays well & gets itself sorted then. Fingers crossed. :-X

Depends on how fast Loo-Knee and Elite Pete can strip them [smiley=lolk.gif]

Im on to my second and although they can cost a lot of money Im still looking around for my third. As long as you dont buy all budget spares and maintain them correctly you aint gonna get such a comfortable smooth ride as a mig for the sort of money you can buy them for. My brand new 407 estate was more uncomfy than the mig and I didnt enjoy the ride as much.
-
I figure what I spend in maintaince i've already saved in purchace price.
My car is a good 30K less than any of the other motors on the works car park but looks 30K more.
I don't mind spending a few quid on her cos she a great car :)

I bought my 3.2 Elite at just over a year old and at 13k miles - other than regular servicing (much more often than the 20k interval) it has cost little to service - only once letting me down; last year when i needed a crank sensor.
-
Had mine 7 years - a lot of work done under warranty - because of problems in first 3 years VX extended the warranty to 5 years.
Was basically going fine and just routine servicing, brakes etc but colour display failed in 2007 and that demanded resourcefulness and this forum purely because of the pathetic inability of VX to repair CIDs for £200 wanting to charge you £1500 for new unit. Bought CID off German ebay at finish.
VX themselves screwed up a cam belt change and had to fit a new V^ 3.2 engine.
I have really been happy overall with Omega and the Irmscher kit has helped it avoifd a too dated look. The drive is fantastic but worthless as a trade in £2k tops I suppose. This forum is really helping me keep costs down including dealing with VX dealers who to a large extent make so many errors in diagnosis and repair that you have to have 2nd and 3rd opinions to deal with it.
-
Funny thing is I dont think the facelifts look dated at all yet.........?
When i am in traffic i dont look around and feel everyone else has got a nicer car than me......!!!
think our mv6 is a very smart looking car

Could not agree more as they seem to be aging extremely well with most new car designs not radically different than the Omega :D :D ;)
-
i agree! my elite is :y one of the smartest looking cars on the road!!!
