Title: 2 weeks and no response from e-bay seller
Post by: mkaminski100 on 20 March 2009, 23:28:03
My wife bought a trousers on e-bay. Cheap item, but 2 weeks are gone and we haven't received it, nor the refund or any information. I have already send 3 e-mails, pointing that I want the trousers but can get a refund if there's any problem. Unfortunately, no response at all.
Today I've send an e-mail that after 2 weeks of waiting for a paid item (2 weeks from payment date) I will be forced to inform E-Bay and I also keep all correspondence so that she cant blame me.
On Sunday, I will have to inform E-Bay but will she be still able to give me a negative feedback if I can prove that it was her fault and I did everything I could to sort this?

It is impossible now for any seller to give any buyer negative feedback so do not worry at all about that........

Two weeks after the payment was done is more than a lot. I understand that there are problems or mistakes, like one seller told me that she cant sell the item because it's damaged (I think it just went too cheap), but she wrote an e-mail the same day.
This seller does not respond at all, so as promised, I will inform ebay on Sunday.
Thanks, guys

Agreed, 2 weeks is too long, if from UK. I tend to find people post within a day or 2, my last purchase arrived within 36 hours... :y most withing 3 or 4 days. :)

I'll give it a try tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if e-bay will not help me to get a refund...

So I need to inform E-Bay and PayPal? I don't know how the PayPal will know that she didn't send me the item? She can always say that item was despatched and I am lying.

No she has too prove you received the item...thats why you should always send goods by recorded delivery to a verified address as a minimum.

Just open a dispute in paypal...they will ask for transaction details...ebay number ect and they will do the rest.

Did you actually use paypal? If so, they will refund any amount, not just over a certain amount.

The helpline number for ebay is 020 8080 2105.

Payment was done by PayPal so I went to E-bay and filled the "Not received item" form. Then I was forwarded to PayPal and had to explain everything there. It will take them up to 30 days and I'll be asked about the details but hopefully it will be solved.
I understand that she might be away, seek or anything similar, but if you're selling something, you have to be responsible. Nevertheless, if there was a genuine reason for this, she would like to resolve this problem (refund or item dispatch) and apologise I will not issue a negative feedback.

Dont be too sure! I bought some software, not from ebay, but from a proffesional looking website, but paid paypal.
Software was a download, it turned out to be freeware software, I could have downloaded it foc from plenty of websites...BUT the reason i paid for the software was because their website claimed 'their' software could do a particular thing......it carnt and will never do....
So I complained to Paypal......their answer.....not their problem!  >:(
