Title: Ouch...!
Post by: Marks DTM Calib on 28 January 2007, 21:13:07
I replaced a set of front springs on a Corsa on saturday (easy job) and now have a nasty case of Bursitis in my knee.....I cant bend it and its swollen up like a balloon!

This is due to me kneeling on hard surfaces.....so a warning to all...buy some knee pads (I will be!) when working on cars or kneeling on any hard surface...

Humm sounds like fun!!!

I tend to use some old mats taken out of my old project car, find it much more comfy compared to the hard cold concrete floor.

My old man's an electrician and has pockets sown ito his pants that take foam inserts ;)  My knees ache with the cold so I have knee pads and wear them with an old pair of sallopets - toasty  :y

I use Mrs TheBoy's gardening kneeling pad.  Didn't stop my back getting buggered up yesterday  :(

You'd better get that fixed, I may be taking you to the scrappy to roll a car over  ;)

If The Boy can roll a car over he'll have to change his name to The Big Strong Boy  ;)

Firstly bind that knee up now.

Secondly I sit down as my bum is more padded than my ankles, just don't put legs under when jacked up!

... or get one of these (http://www.justoffbase.co.uk/Mechanics-Mat-Set-EVA-Black-Red-Black-Sealey-VS8572), identical ones I bought from Halfrauds for £15 ... more comfortable than cardboard when working underneath the car !!!

I learned my lesson a couple of weeks ago. I laid a laminate floor, (oo-er!!), in a day and had sore knees for three!!  ::)

This won't stop Mark though... a mere swollen knee is not enough to lay up a minor deity! ;)

Or House maids Knee

I laid parque flooring in our 22ftx20ft front room. It took forever, then I had to polish it twice and my wife wonders why I see my backside when someone walks through with shoes on. Ive only just started to walk upright again and I fitted it 2 years ago ;D
