Mine was a H-reg 1.2 Nova. Very unreliable.
-
E Reg 1.3 LX Nissan Sunny, dull to look at.
But bullet proof reliability, seats were also very good supprsingly.. interior had no rattles.... but when i started uni it really could not hack the motorways :'(
-
Mine was a D plate Fiat Regatta 1.6. ::)
It was diabolical if the engine could even smell it was going to rain. >:(
I was 19 at the time and cost me £850ish to insure.
I'll go away and hang my head in shame now! :-[
-
My first car was a 1959 Morris Minor 2dr saloon with a massive 948cc engine - I adoured it, but it went to the big scrapyard in the sky after about 2 yrs :'(

First car was a 1959 Renault Dauphin... it was in 1977 and the car was made in the same year I was born...
Horrible little French car... I was lucky that the seller agreed to take it back after a week albeit at a loss to myself (I was just 18 at the time and I think he took pitty of me)

Again, this is not the actual car, just a piccy from the Internet. Mine was dull grey which for some reason was a very popular colour in the fiftees and sixtees...
-
First car was a Mk1 Cavalier 2.0GLS......
Second car was a Mk1 Fiesta 1.1.....a right heap of....never could get the tappets quiet and way to low gearing....the shocking thing is that they still used this crock of in the Ka!
Third was a Nova 1.0.....superb little thing, mega cheap and reliable....and a million times better than the Fiesta...
And the list then goes on...

C plate Ford Orion 1.6 ghia. I have to say, it was good for my first car. I worked as a travelling salesman with it and never had any problems :y
-
1965 Ford Anglia 1.0L Deluxe
Being a youngster in those days, chavved it up a bit with twin choke carbs, 4 branch manifold, semi-straight through exhaust and 5 1/2 J Rostyle wheels. Sounded good but not that quick by todays standards.

The first car I had the use of after passing my test was one of my Dad's spare company cars. An '83 Cortina 1.6 GL. For some reason it was extraordinarily fast. The first thing I did after passing the test was to jump in it and drive it at 125 down the nearest stretch of straight road!! Remarkably enough it didn't last long. I passed on the Monday, someone tailended me on the Saturday then I failed to control some very dramatic oversteer the following Wednesday which caused me to take an excursion across two feilds!!
My second car was a Cortina 1.6 Crusader estate. I loved it to bits. Sadly about 18 months after I got it I rear ended five cars on the Forth Road Bridge at 5 o'clock one Friday night and closed the bridge for a while. Boy I was popular!! I still maintain that the car in front's brake lights didn't work. They certainly didn't when I'd finished with it!! ::)
-
First car was a Rover 416Ls Special Edition, full cream leather it was decent lookin back now but at 17 it was an old mans car, So I sold it and bought an Astra Sport with an XE 8-) Im now on my 9th car and im only 20! I get bored easily!
Now I love me "old mans" cars :P
-
A 1979 Vauxhall chevette 1.3 GL, so it the alloy sports wheel on it 8-)

My first legal car was a 1973 1.3 Ford Escort Estate. I was into CB radio at the time and at weekends I used to drive up Hope mountain and be on the CB all night sleeping in the back with the seats down.

Drove a 1.1 fiesta on an N plate and now my mum uses it, good little runner but I wouldn't go back to it what with having my omega.
Still drive it from time to time though.

Initially had part shares in an 850 Mini with large fibreglass one piece front end with no bracing between inner wings. Good fun, but a scary heap of dung. Learned the valuable lesson that cardboard and glue does not have the same structural strength of welded steel.
First 'real' car that was all mine was a 1969 Vaux Viva - think it had an 1157 cc engine. Had to get a bank loan to buy it (£250 if I recall) and got the 3rd degree from the Bank Manager about how I could afford the payments. (was in 1976 and earning about £100 a month clear....)

Fiat Uno 998cc.
What a bloody good bit of kit it was too

Bond Bug!!!! absolutely brilliant fun and would have another if i could find one at a reasonable price!! you could drive it on a motorcycle licence which is why i had it!! till i passed me test in the car, then went and bought a triumph 2.5PI, AND get this insurance on the bond bug was 33quid and the triumph was 41pounds sir and i thought that was expensive!!!

Another one not happy with them [smiley=shocked.gif]- my mum had an Avenger and it was brilliant, went well, had races with bigger engined Capris, handled well enough to really pee off an off duty copper who was acting the prat following me down a twisty lane (Sandhurst lane James - going from Counds to Twigworth) (I should have discussed him with my traf pol friend), got loads of stuff in the back. I would love another but I would have nowhere to put one and tuning parts are getting to difficult to get - and most are now rotten - my Sunbeam basically rotted out at 22 years old. Oh the Avenger did have a part rebuilt engine (good clean up and new pistons)

One of my brothers used to work at Tickfords (of Tickfords Capri fame), and brought home a Metro Turbo that they had played with. That was friggin quick....
-
Just to go off-topic for a minute - forgive me...
Having worked in the motor trade all my life, the most frightening experience I ever had was driving a road legal Metro 6R4 - It ran like it was on rails no matter how fast you put it into a corner, and beleive me, the driver would chicken out before he found the cars limits!
The downside was the NOISE!!! Absolutely earth shattering - After 30 minutes in the car you couldn't hear anything for the ringing in your ears! And it would never make a practical everyday car, apart from the noise it had no power at all below about 3000 RPM, so driving around town was almost entirely done in first gear!

My first car was a 1969 Triumph Spitfire Mk3. I learnt a lot on that car but not how to weld and so it had to go. Oh for that turning circle and the ease of engine access.
