bought my x a washing machine wed. delivery friday between 7am and 7pm. we rang earlier to see what time roughly they will come. out of stock now, 2 weeks delivery.
rang complaints they told us go to tescos for refund
then someone said it was in stock on transit
another call, who told you that, we havent got it. gave them name and number.
another call. take no notice we will deliver today.
another call. no delivery today, out of stock.
2 calls together, 1 on mobile 1 on landline. 1 said out of stock we will refund, and give you £20 for the trouble. other said we will deliver.
next call, its on the van in scotland, has already left cardiff and on its way. rang head office complained
next call its on van will be with you tomorrow without a doubt.
what a useless bunch of tossers.
my x was crying when i left, now ive got to go all the way back over tomorrow and start again to take old one out to put new one in. thats iff it turns up

ive had a similar probem with tesco, bought an lcd telly, got it home & found one speaker was duff, phoned them up & was told no more in stock so keep hold of it until we get more, this went on for nearly 12 months [warranty time] so i went back & they had nothing to replace it, they apparently looked on their p,c & said nothing suitabe for replacement in any stores, i happen to go in another store to find they had loads of others which were bigger for less money, phoned up tesco only to be told my warranty had run out so basically tough poo, just as well i use surround sound but as you say they mess you about but wont go to tesco again,,,,,btw believe it or not tesco direct are nothing to do with tesco [or so i was told] >:( >:(

the washing machine was £268 after the discount at tescos, and £420 something in comet. and i split the tax rebate i got with her 2 weeks ago thats whay i bought it. im not that generous ;)

Yep - welcome to 'f**k-you-over-Britain' everyone!
The best service that we've ever had is that given by the Apple Store. When looking for a new computer, we did the usual round of on-line and High Street giants. Mothers in baseball-caps first reaction was to take my 'hard-earned' but couldn't answer my questions on product suitability and availability.
A good friend put me on to the people at Apple and hey presto ....
Ended-up with a superb eMac, rather than a crappy PC and never looked back.
Good on yer Apple .... !

I took the techie route - see what was good value on Ebuyer - got quad core, 2TB of HDD, decent MB* and graphics and 2GB of Ram for under £500, I reused a case KB mouse, monitor, DVD burner and FDD
* Firewire, fast enough, IDE support as well as SATA
