just thought I'd update you all as everybody on the forum has been helpful. I joined OOF last week and introduced myself as another newbie, everybody was friendly and made me feel welcome so thanks to all who said hello. Last week I said I'd put a deposit on an 02 2.6 Elite, well I'm please to say I'm now the proud owner of that very car, it is a one owner and covered only 8.200 miles, yes it's like brand new and even smells new, I paid a bit for it but I think it was worth it and I shall be cherishing it for a long time to come.

Spill the beans Dave.

8200, they must of just used it to take the kids to school
-
was that the omega another member saw in a supermarket carpary?the owner was like 107!? ;D
-
It will still need a cambelt, if it hasn't had one, of course.
-
Sounds like a gem --- look forward to seeing a pic or two :y

Agreed :y :y

Ok I'll tel you the price but firstly I must explain I beleive you get what you pay for and secondly I was happy to pay the price as I intend to keep it, £4.400 I can hear you shouting "daft sod" but what would I get for that type of money !!! you've got to admit it's a lot of car.
-
DAFT SOD!
-
Agreed ! I'll have a go at taking some pics to put in the gallery, that's if it's still in one piece, I can't help looking in the mirror and watching that blind go up and down !!
-
I would say that with a mileage as low as that it is worth every penny.
-
I think in comparison it would be an older BMW 5 series or an S type jag with 70 or 80,000 miles or more and past it's sell by date !! so it's not bad when you look at it from that point of view -- honest !!

LOL -- I do that too ..... was thinking of painting a "finger" on the blind to express my displeasure at following motorists :D Only kidding ::) ;)

Hehe, I have a few pics if you want one, I was going to print one out and tape it to mine. ;D ;D ;D
-
Of course there's always a down side and mine is the CD magazine is stuck in, probably through lack of use, I'm not saying they were old but the couple who had it before me probably tried to play their '78's' in there !! I'm bidding on one on ebay at the moment so that should solve that little issue.
-
Sounds like a stunner and i am sure it will give you many years of service, enjoy :y
-
Well done on that purchase. I bought an 02 2.6CD with leather a couple of years back with just 18,000 on the clock and that too smelled like new. They're cracking cars and I'm sure you'll enjoy owning it. :y
Sadly, as mine's not an elite, it doesn't posses the rear visor or the Bose audio. I guess I could put a visor in though. It's got me thinking...
BTW could you stick your location in your profile? It's nice to get a feel of where we all are.
-
Well ... if you paid what you felt it was worth to you then there's no issue with the price -- let's face it, it's practically a new car !!!!
-
Cheers everyone, it's refreshing to speak with like minded and friendly people.
Good night to you all !

Very true this one sounds like a gem well done . :y

Sounds like a real gem... And the price isn't too bad really!
If we're all honest we'd part with well over the "normal" price to get one that is still new!
8200 miles.... 3 Months max for me... Especially now the summer is nearly here!

Half the price of a recent 39000 mile Omega on this forum ::) ::).
With only 8200 miles,I think that is a fair price. :-* :-* :-*
