I know the Boys in Blue have taken a beating today and I know they do a very tough job but....

How can he think that 90+mph in a built up area is safe???? And with no warning whatsoever... No Lights, sirens, main beam flashers >:( >:( >:(

Deserves to get the book thrown at him... If it were a civilian who had caused that poor girls death in those circumstances it'd be Death by Dangerous Driving as a minimum... Probably Manslaughter :o

My thoughts go out to the Family and, particularly, the friends who witnessed this terrible tragedy! :'( :'(

As an advanced response driver that is an absolute disgrace on his part... no call should ever be that serious as to not only endanger other road users but your own life too.... we operate a policy of no more than 15mph over the limit for any emergency call...

Driving what, in our village we regularly get Ambulances going through, aw well as Police and Fire Engines and most of them fly through, in a  30 limit. Blues and twos through the day, but just blues at night and we have a couple of hidden junctions of the main road.
That said I have been in an Ambulance on blues and twos and was very grateful for the driver flooring it :y

Thats our service's policy, however not all services operate that type of policy.... it is something that may be brought to the forefront under section 19 of the new road safety act... which will give greater control of the use of blue lights and the exemptions claimed against statutory speed limits...

She was a lovely looking girl with the rest of her life in front of her, what a waste :'(.

   I know it was not intentional as all accidents are but PC Dougal should and i hope is feeling sick to his stomach for such a piece of undeniably bad driving, after all that's what the blues and twos are for isn't it >:(.

How can he claim to have been driving safely when someone was killed !!! How safe is that ??  >:( >:(

And for an ANPR recognition !!!!  What was he thinking!??

It looks as if the red mist came down.  It's supposed to be trained-out.

hummm, the car that passed him on the video at 1 min was the car that sparked ANPR? took a while to flag that  :-/

I belive he said he did not put blues and twos on as not to alert the driver, but surely he is a long way ahead now.

I suspect he would have put them on if it was mid day due to traffic, but as its midnight and nothing around i guess he thought to leave them off  :-/
