apart from town being demolished at moment yeah sure is good here spend most my time in newquey for sun surf and crusies :ymaybe see you on your visits in future i make real good pastys ;D

I have only been a member for 3 days I think, and the site I think is brilliant.
I got a message back from one guy who said they had a meet at Santa Pod in October I think he said and to keep my eye out for meets posted on here. Bar-b-Ques and beer and stuff I and my lot are up for that wherever it is!
Hope to meet ya sometime :y

we like a good bbq here in summer its stunning good bottle cold beer sorted just pm me if ever coming down will be glad to meet and have drink or somthing talk cars etc

ahh got someone elses attention its funny how food allways do the trick(or beer)theres plenty good food down here and you havent had a real cornish pasty till you tried one of my home made ones about 14"long 8oz chuck steak and onion potatoes carrots umm i think i got to make some in morning ohh yes i know what doing i skilled baker.and 100%cornish pedigree.i will have to start a mail order service for pastys,just kidding ;D

Like you we go over to Newquay but just for the odd day, last year i was watchin all these young guys on these Skimming Boards, so off i went up to the shops to get one... i was trying and trying until i could actually stop on for more than five seconds! our girls were killing themselves laughin and eggin me on, i was absolutley knackered, i am sure i have never been so knackered.....
Going try surfin again myself, but i just cant stand up ;D
Great Fun though :y

I have relatives in Cornwall and also go there at least once a year.

There is a Helston member as well

I normally stay near Falmouth at Mawnan Smith

i went the lazy way and do bodyboarding instead of surf boarding at least you havent got to stand up and it hides me six gone one pack too and you havent got as much work to do but just as much fun

nice frame martin you cant get much better than background shots for your car to stand in than down here st maws castle is a common one as is carhays beach not far from your family

yeah my dad runs the docks there hes harbour master,very nice place about 10mins away from my house and has a great regata week were the red arrow fly up the river and do there bit right in front the gardens you have in photos and the best pub crawl in cornwall exspect to be hung over that weekend normally got 30.000 around for that week as its all to do with daphne du muriea the writer and local goings on.cheep beer thats my part dad gets us all on the jettys for the red arrows so we get front seat show and its all free and loads of food you will have to return soon will show you some sites

What weekend is that then fancy a bit of that!
Mrs says we booked up this year to go Looe on 21st July for three weeks so if the weekend is within those times we will be there.
daphne du muriea? is that the woman who wrote about The Jamacia Inn?
I am looking forward to my hols now only got 6 months to wait LMAO ;D

yeah sorry guys been in making cup tea it was the same lady about jamaica inn,rebecca so on it around july time and its all good fun kids and adults all round the street party is massive beer fancy dress fireworks music legal drinking in town all weekend its so free and relaxing and to date i dont recal any bad events were theres been any trouble or anything theres water sport events on its all happening but then if you are down and give me a shout loo will tell you what on and around and maybe if up for it meet up/and you bo bo its a good crack here i left to live in london for 5 years before got married 12years ago and i would never leave here again.if you guys want to chat anytime or send me message then i.m me

More details, usually go to Maenporth Beach, also we travel about and see something new - this year it will be the Eden Project.

We also go to Falmouth a lot, Roskillys cafe at their farm. Always visit the Lizard (see the Pasty thread), also like visiting the coastal places around that area.

The Helford river is very scenic, and there are a few nice pubs in the area also on the Fal.

The nearest I get to Cornwall is the spelling  :-[ Although I did spend a week in Devon this year and that's just up the road a bit  ;)

i love cornwall....

Holidaying As a kid , we used to stay in a converted rectory just outside padstow....

these days it's more usually around the borders of devon/cornwall... clovelly , and such like...

have friends living in Falmouth though......  


anyway...the point of this post...
i'm curious as to how one would BBQ a Pasty??

I always thought I lived fairly close to Cornwall being in Dorset until I drove to Newquay last year - it took ages!  :o

well thanks for replys guys well pastys take 45mins in oven and we like good old mad cow and a rack off lamb on the barby down here from local farm,pastys are a daily lunch thing bbq time involves plenty of meat,beer.if any of you down this way in summer etc just give me email and will party on.still havent found anybody in club thats local yet.there someone from falmouth but they not been on yet if anybody knows them tell them to contact me,chears what about the rugby yesterday good old phill rickers from cornwall and at last jonnys back 42 england 20 scotland best game i have seen in long time got totally hammered in pub next door too the roof was off with the final score and it was heaving ...bring it on england hope this is a start of a good rugby season.

Standard 1 day drive then, no biggie.  8-)

No really, when I was home for Xmas we did 400 miles after lunch several times.  :)

I will be travelling from Northwich to Uig which is 460 miles then on a ferry to North Uist which is another 2 hours on Sunday. I am not looking forward to that :'(
