Title: Driving Shoes/Trainers
Post by: Mr Skrunts on 17 April 2009, 17:10:20
I have a problem with my feet that leaves me with sore and swollen heels  (feet) especially when I have been driving a while, this also causes my feet to swell.

Started to wonder what the rally drivers etc wear for comfort, but leaving out the fireproofing side of thier footwear.

Have been looking arround and wondered if any one made shoes/trainers with a gel support arround the heel.

Prefer to wear trainers but of the stuff I have looked up on ebay all the items have very poor/basic descrips.  Even the gel trainers @ £120 they seem to think if you are buying them you automatically know all about them.

Any thoughts/advice?

TIA  :y :y

I must admit Skruntie I always drive in the shoes I wear most days; between 3 & 1/2" or 4 & 1/2" heels! 8-) 8-) 8-)

Of course that is no good to you (I hope!!) :D :D :D ;)

Why would it be, it's legal to drive in high heels and that could perhaps be a little dangerous, but so could a clumpy pear of boots in the wrong vehicle. I went through a stage a few years ago of using stocking feet. :y

Did you keep the belt on and roll the skirt up, just incase the police stopped you.

Only coz you were unsure which colour to wear, so i said I think women look best in black, so you decided to wear red ones to match your car. ;D ;D

No Andy, you'd be surprised :D :D.

There is one that I see here in Ashford, plus I have noted others when driving further afield.  The other Elf version I have also had the pleasure seeing in a number of locations.

The truth is all mini's, as well as the other versions, are still well loved and treasured.  So many are now 'classic cars' that are sought after. :-* :-* :-* :-*   But of course they will become very rare in not many years from now! :'( :'( :'( :'(

My first car was a 1963 half-timbered Mini Countryman (383 AOW)
Since then I owned several saloons, a mini-van & best of all a mini pick-up in which we went on honeymoon, picking up 2 hitch-hikers in Salisbury taking them all the way to Yeovil. (boy did they get cold in the back!) :)

I know it's illegal but i like driving barefoot. Used to do it alot when i was younger.
Lizzie in stillies??? With a whip??? Walk on me!!!!!! ::) ;D ;D :D
I know someone from college who ALWAYS drives barefoot, he says its not illegal  :-?

Anyone know if it is or isnt legal to drive barefoot?

TIA.   :y

Why would it be, it's legal to drive in high heels and that could perhaps be a little dangerous, but so could a clumpy pear of boots in the wrong vehicle. I went through a stage a few years ago of using stocking feet. :y

have you ever driven a Mini in wide flip flops ::)

Used to nip out a lot at lunch time from work, never got changed out of my overalls and steel toe capped Doc martins or my Wellies.

They were obviously not a girl and boy then! ::) ::) :D :D ;)
Actually they were!

Must have lacked imagination then or perhaps they were frigid!! ;D ;D ;D ;)
Would you in full view of the car behind?? ::)

A mini pick-up had sides, and if you lay flat enough, cuddled up................. ::) ::) :D :D ;)
The voice of experience no doubt! :-*
Come to think of it the sides were not high enough to completely hide a pair of 38DDs!!

Quick update.

Watching Sky/How do they do that series over the weekend and saw how they made the Asics trainers.

Having seen these on Ebay I thought the ones I saw in silver looked gimmicky before the weekend.  Had a look arround the net today and saw these.  Free 2nd class delivery, £2.95 1st class delivery (Makes a mockery of some of the enay sellers and thier charges)

Had a really good chat to the guy from thier shop and he directed me to them, They will only be for indoor use and the car etc.  So looking forward to see if they are any good.

According to the Sky programme I saw.  Lots of testing, computer modeling.  300 parts to each trainer.  Time will tll.
