How often do you do all this?
What about the inside, or do you spend so much time cleaning it that you don't have time to sit in it? [smiley=lolk.gif]

On a weekly basis, weather permitting.

Washing takes under 1 hour.

Polishing also takes under 1 hour.

I vac the inside out at least once a month.

You can all take the p**s, but I enjoy driving around in a clean car.

RB's seen it and commented on it's condition.

I'm not taking the p**s, I just wish I had the patience to clean mine properly. I've only had this one three weeks and it's already starting to look dirty. Why can't they be made self cleaning?  [smiley=bath.gif]

I am ashamed to say, I pay some Eastern Europeans (probably illegal, judging by the way they hide when plod goes by) to wash and vac. If I have time, I get then to polish it as well....

There was a guy featured on tv a while back, takes him a week to fully clean a car and he charges £4000 !  He will do a quicker clean, 2 days  £1700.

Of course he only has super rich clients.

I'm with Auto on this. :) I quite enjoy giving the car a thorough clean. Look after your toys and they will last a long time.

I agree servicing and maintenance is important, but I don't think cleaning will make it last longer. Except that it does give you a chance to spot the rust sooner.
And, a clean car does look better. My old one was dark blue, and even at almost ten years old, it looked great when it was clean. My new one is silver and, apart form the wheels, doesn’t look much different clean or dirty. [smiley=bath.gif]

It sounds like you do a thorough job there AA  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Mine usually gets cleaned twice a week.....even when its not been raining it still gets dusty.

My quick method....

Bucket of water, nothing added
Sponge...whichever one i find 1st
Quick sponge around the car.....skipping the wheels.
Two watering cans of water to rinse off (Hose pipe ban here!)
Chamois the windows......skip the rest (being silver it doesnt show water marks easily)

While its drip drying

Vacuum out the inside using a 14V rechargeable portable vac (quicker than dragging out the mains vacuum cleaner)
Wipe down the dash and anything else that looks dirty/dusty with detol fridge wipes (everything else ive tried leaves fibres behind and when dry looks just as dusty as before!)

15mins later job done  :)

Which is what its gonna get in a bit coz im off to Gatwick at 4 ish

i wash mine once a week, not quite the regimented way that AA does it, but i have a 'route' that includes all the underbonnet, door shuts, boot shuts etc.

it's gets polished every 2 months and the inside gets cleaned on an as and when basis, normally every few weeks as i don't generally get it very dirty inside.

I like the car to be clean, being gold i can get away with it if i wanted to but i don't
