About a week ago, I posted a suggestion in the Forum Suggestions section about product reviews. It may have been the world's worst suggestion, but I am surprised that there was no admin response at all.
Was it that bad an idea? ::) ;)

Sorry no one has replied, it is a good idea, as long as it's kept constructive and not negative.

Yep, we have been very busy with other issues and discussing other options.

I did read it, but wondered about its value once a recommendation is more than a few weeks old - prices, quality, business practices all change :-/
Also, couldn't immediately see a way to fit it in to the site, and our attentions were diverted elsewhere at the time :-[

Thanks for your responses, Jaime. I'm sorry I didn't think too hard about the admins workload last week before I posted this thread. I can fully understand why a swift answer to the original was not forthcoming.
On to your post quoted above. I agree with the highlighted text, but I'm not sure that individual pricing is all that important. For example, we could have member's reports on budget tyres and premium tyres so different price bands are catered for. What I would find useful is the actual performance that members experience.
The same goes for exhausts. Not everyone can afford an OEM system, so they may be tempted by Bosal or Timax. Have members had these fitted and how long did they last?
I wouldn't want to burden you with anything fancy like spreadsheets. I just think we could have a new section with a simple separate thread each for tyres, exhausts, mobile phones (for Tunnie :P) and so on. As long as members didn't start clogging the threads with jokes and banter, they shouldn't become unmanageably long, IMHO.
Worth a trial, perchance?

Again, from a personal point of view, there are problems with the recommendations, as members won't be comparing like with like. Bit like the 'aero' type wiper blades - people say they are fantastic and wipe well, but the reason most put new ones on was because the old ones were well shagged...
