Our dog used to have the odd bit of chocolate given to her by her first owners, we found out from the vet that chocolate is very toxic to dogs, and white chocolate is even worse.

It can cause dogs to fit.

I must be extremely lucky then - they are just dustbins literally ( go done the rather thing when your not looking)  and chocolate does not bother them :o

You are on about your dog eating anything..........
My mum used to have Rough Collies (like Lassie). Mum had the chicken Defrosting one night the next day it had gone ::) the dog was walking like John Wayne for a day or two after though ;D
If socks were on the radiator drying, for some reason there would be odd socks. A day or two later they would be in the garden a strange colour  ;D

It`s more to do with the size/weight of the dog and the percentile of Theobromide content in the chocolate......low Tb. content milk Chocolate and a large (fat) Choco-Lab. would likely mean little-or-no 'tummy turmoil'.....but dark/baking chocolate in the same dog might mean serious poisoning.
Generally for safety, the advice is NO Chocolate for any dog. ;)

If in doubt as to how much chocolate would be poisonous to your dog if he/she has accidentally consumed some; 'CALL YOUR VET' ASAP!
