my dad is lending me his video camera along with a digital camera
the video camera is a old 1 which has the little video tapes
is there a way i can pull from the tapes to my pc
or shall i give that idea up and use the digital camera for both photo's and video's

If its an old analogue type, at best you will get crappy svideo which you need a capture card in PC to use.

ive been looking at it today and its to old and bulky for the york meet so i'll use the digital camera for both photo's and video's

ive gotta go over on thursday morning to pick the digital camera up so ill look and get the model i may as well bring it to york :y

Here goes
CVC - sell it as a collectors item
VHS-C - skip
Video 8 - analogue capture
Hi 8 - analogue capture
Digital 8 - firewire
Micro MV - I think USB
Mini DV - Firewire
HDV - firewire
Mini DV is excellent I really want an HDV one though

if its bulky it could be a NV VX2100 my favoroute and trusty best friend ;) :)
i too would like to upgrade my'n to the HD version but cant afford it and got better things to buy :(

20 years ago I hred a video camera to record my Brothers 21st.
Just tried to google it but may have got the mofel wrong.
It took full size VHS tapes and for its time the quality was fantastic.
Seem to recollect it being a Panasonic or Hitachi M1SE or something similar.
Must admit I fancy a HD vid camera at the moment.

I remember the old Vhs cameras - all inferior to the Sony Beta portable (SL-F1UB), however best cameras where JVC GX-N70 and a Panasonic with CCD pickup - with both of these the most popular accessory was a 14 pin K lead to fit Sony recorders

I know it's not cheap, but would this be the kind of thing you maybe looking for.

There is another way of doing the conversion via leads, I'll see if I can find a link for that one to, a lot cheaper, but not sure on the quality of the end result ?.
