Title: oil cooler

hi lads well got the omega back every thing ok ,temp seems ok ,engine working as it should , sounds sweet, garage have said to bring i back in 4 weeks to reflush and change oil is this about the norm for this sort of repair :-?

After an oil cooler failure, I'd like to see initial daily coolant flushes  :o

It will take around 20 flushes with use in between before the cooling system will be free of oil...

hi mate yes this is what i said but they said no should be ok ,but i will check it daily anyway.

Thats easy yo say when you've got your radiator drain plug intact :'(

Thats easy yo say when you've got your radiator drain plug intact :'(
'dangle berries' to that, takes too long, pull bottom hose instead ;)

That is just bull what that garage is saying, I can say from experiance that it will need 20+ flushes.

Even after about the 3rd flush on a 10 mile run, the coolant tank still had massive amounts of oil left in it.

Put a little bleach or screen wash in with the coolant, and that should shift it  :y

If you do put something strong in coolant, only run for 2 or 3 miles then flush a couple of times...

ok lads thanks for the advice, i have checked it tonite and it is a little bit brown but not as bad as it was so it looks like it is diluting steadily i will go for first flush at weekend.

Don't leave it longer - the oil will ruin the rubber pipework and possibly waterpump seal...
