I think I'm not doing too bad this time, but Mrs TB wants to bring extra cloths/coats due to weather forecasts being non conclusive.  I've dumped a couple of bulky items in with the student as well, as he has plenty of room in his car :y

Try going away for 2 weeks in a Westfield. Have managed to negotiate down to 4 pairs of footwear for Mrs. KW. Still 3 too many. >:(

Oh, no! Apparently the Hotel has Wi-Fi and the laptop is coming!  ::)

All I care about is that the Hotel has a bar and it sells black liquid. I'd prefer brown liquid but it'll amuse me during the times when that clear liquid is falling from the sky. ;D

A few years ago I was considering building a kit car, I had a rusty hatch with a very good engine and box, and I knew it would fit a XFlow based Westfield.

Money issues stopped me.

I suggest you get yourself over to Stoneleigh Showground near Leamington on Sunday or Monday then.  :y

Lad at work suggested that, but I no longer have the donor vehicle, I really fancied doing something different and the Rootes group 1.6 short stroke lump was ideal, personally I think they are better than the XFlows

What isn't?

Antiguated, very thirsty and rather fragile once tuned. I did have a mate with a 190BHP one. Had quite a narrow power band though. ;D

The Rootes lump was often knocked but I thought it was rather good for a push rodder, even at well over 7000rpm in top

Very short stroke, large valves, short push rods, 8 port head

The rootes lumps were indeed very good.

I was recently considering building a Locost, but based on a 1500cc Hillman Avenger.  Saw the Avenger on flea-bay (was an MOT failure, with shot bodywork, but decent lump and box), but the price went up to a stupid amount - about 400squids iirc.  Needless to say, I didn't bother...

I'd still love to build a Locost, but my welding skills are, well, frankly pants.  Give me any gauge of metal, and I guarantee I can blow a hole in it  ;D
