Was trolling through ebay and autotrader on thursday night about 9pm checking out newly listed cars when there before me came up an omega 2.2 dti cdx estate on a 51 plate! The car i have been searching for for weeks now!
It was a beautiful shade of red and with 2 owners from new one being vauxhall and only 52,000 miles on the clock i knew i just had to email and ask if he would end the auction early and sell to me (it had been listed on ebay less than an hour!)
The bloke got back to me asap on thurs night saying he would sell to me so yesterday paid my deposit and we drove to surrey this morning to collect it!
I have to say we are well chuffed with it it is fab, there a few marks on the exterior but nothing too major and the interior is immaculate. I cant wait to start driving her!
Now the only matter is selling the old car! Which by the way ... is a BMW 320d tourer on a 2001 X plate if anybody knows of anyone that may be interested please get in touch!
I just had to let you all know how pleased i am, searching for the right car definately pays off!
:D

Out of interest Sara, why so hellbent on a 2.2 dti?
-
Just because i love the economy of diesels, my bro has the 2.5 bmw engine and had said it was quite juicy around town which most of my journeys are with children and people on here recommended the 2.2 in comparison to the 2.5.
However my other half was desperate for another 2.5 v6 petrol or an mv6 unfortunately for me that would cost too much to run and maintain so me being the sensible one opted for a diesel! Not to mention the price hike in tax that we have just had!
If i had the first idea of how to upload pics onto here i would lol any help would be appreciated!

Very savoury, Sara - it's nice one's efforts paying off :) That shade of red is quite rich and really suits the car (had a few in work) 8-) Will look forward to seeing the pics when you get round to it. Well done :y :y

Ive had mine now for 5 years and im still well pleased with it :y :y The 35-40 mpg on a run down m/way at 70 + still impresses me better than 20 -25mpg from me old V6 , Ok the acceleration isnt stellar but once there is fine and dandy with cruise control on 8-) 8-) 8-)

Something wrong with your V6 then - a 2.5V6 will easily get 35mpg at 70mph!

That's a lot of loot for a P reg pre-facelift :y
-
The BMW imho is a hell of alot better than an omega! bit smaller than a diesel meega though

Im afraid i have disliked the bm from the start, she has been reliable and started on the button every time but i just dont like the drive it has an appauling lag at 1200 revs and to be honest im a vauxhall girl at heart! I have had near enough every model they have made now so im just sticking to what i know!
I love the omega because of the size and capacity the bm is really poor cabin space and being a soon to be mum of 2 under 18 months i need the space for children stuff!
I suppose it all goes back to when we were kids and my dad had a carlton estate it was the most comfy car ever and it got us on many camping hols!!!!! lol :D

James i could never get 35mpg out of either the 2.6 or 2.6, struggled to get 30 most of the time

On a 400 mile round trip to Wales last month,we managed 34.3mpg.
this was taking it very easy ,and also my 2.6 is a manual. :-* :-* :-* :-*
