We were talking about this the other day and I remembered being stuck behind a slow red 1100 with loaded roofrack going to the seaside. There was only one place for the next 20 miles i would get by him. So pressed sport on the Carlton and overtook. The stress of it all caused the exhaust to break in two and the back box to dance around all over the place under the car as I pulled back in. :-[
What to do? Well there was a pulling in spot about a mile on. The driver of the red car slowed to give me space thankfully and to my horror also pulled off to see if we were OK and to see if he could help and wasn't abusive. No said I and when it had cooled off I unhooked it and put it in the boot and continued my way miles behind the red car by this time.

How very thoughtful of the man in the red car to make sure you were ok ;D
Most embarrasing thing was probably last year on my way to work, the fuel range way saying 12 miles left (work was 5 miles away) so though ok, I'll fill up when I get there as I was in a hurry.....well got to the end of my road waiting to pull out onto the busy main road, floored it, then almost immediately the engine cut out and had to pull in on the side of the road as I had just run out of fuel >:( :-[ Ran back home to get my petrol can, neighbour kindly gave me a lift to the petrol station, got back to the car, put the petrol in and.....the battery was dead >:( Not my best night. Now I have a new battery and never let the fuel range go below 40!!!! ::)

I had a little moment on Saturday ::)
I went to get two new tyres at a local little place.
The car was jacked up & four bolts came off each side when they asked me for the locking key & yep I couldn't find it!
So three of us searched everywhere (or so we thought) & still no good.
So back on went the bolts & car down & was advised to contact a Vx dealer to see if they could help get a replacement.
Well I went shopping last night & whilst looking in the boot there's a compartment we didn't check, yep the one with the wheel brace & jack & lo & behold there's the little box with the locking key right where it should be! :D :-[
So on went the new rubber this morning :)

years ago i was fuming behind a slow moving learner driver so decided i had had enough and dropped it down a couple of gears and overtook. halfway passed, to my horror, i saw in front of me a huge chunk of snow/ice left by a snowplough....
so with a screech of tyres and a complete 180 i came to a stop right in front of a packed busstop- all laughing in amazement, not to mention the nodding head and tut tut of the driving instructor as they went passed VERY SLOWLY................................................ :-[ :-[

Pulled up in my Escort was about 19, anyway pulled up to, two very pretty young girls and said alright girls opened the door and it fell off :-[ Picked it back up and drove off felt like the biggest pilloc.

a couple of years ago i was driving a customers bmw x5 back from the moors and decided to stop for an ice cream so pulled off the road onto grass verge like every body else pulled up behind a banger of a sierra full of lads while i was getting the ice cream could hear the lads admiring the x5 and laughing about it being off road for the first time well finished ice cream started up and sat there with wheels spinning going no where fast after all the laughing and jibes the sierra with rope attached pulled me back onto road i said my thank you then got out of there fast :( :( :(

I used to work for Keyfuels / Diesel Direct Fuel Card (truckers on here will know it). I obviously had a fuel card and was going back to the office in Walsall (J10 M6) where we obviously had our own pumps.
At junction 13 I ran out of Diesel and got picked up by the motorway police. As I didn't have any other CC or cash on me they had to drive to somewhere that took the fuel card the closest being the BP Truckstop about a 20 mile round trip (and where I was also known to the forecourt manager).
I had to ask to borrow a "can", fill up, go back to my car, put in diesel and then drive back to the truckstop to return the can.
On the way back to my car the police officer asked me what I did at Keyfuels. Embarassingly I had to tell him I was responsible for Network Coverage i.e. getting the card accepted in as many fuel sites as possible!! :-[ :-[
The reason I had run out was at the time there was not one site between Lymm (M6 J20) and M6 J10. I only lasted in that job for 2 years - I wonder why? :-[ :-[

Those things are bloody expesive too!!! I forked out 23 quid at Hartwell stealership....only to find I allready had one in the centre console storage box >:(

Your like this one. I had a Mitsibushi Pajero. Bloody great thing with a 2" jack on the body etc. I pulled up at tesco's to use the cash point got out and managed to shut my thumb in the door!!! Well it bloody hurt I can tell ya. I was jumping up and down cursing and then I set about the car giving it a right kick etc true "John Cleese" style. When I calmed down and turned round to walk to the cash point. The whole shop was looking at me through the windows behind the tills. :-[ :-[

You can't blame me, the amount of hairdresser jokes that have been banded around ;D
As for the track, I wish there were a few bends involved, I would have been able to stop for a pee and still win :P ;D
