I like the idea :y but the auto-dim wouldn't work :(

interesting, new one on me until now. Whats the mounting bracket like? Remember the bracket for the interior mirror is different between facelift & pre-facelift.

They seem to attach over your existing mirror - I'd be interested to see how well they fit...

It may have changed at 1998 on mini facelift, but the auto dip mirror i removed from the '95 Elite Estate I had, would not fit my 2.2. The mounting bracket was a different shape.

well, fitted the first bit of it today. the mirror unit fits on the mirror easily and is a good hold. (vertical grips) the mirror is also a glare repellant unit?? so ill give ya the verdict on that later.
the mirror can easily be glare adjusted with the twist at the bottom of the existing mirror, its still very accessible.
the cig power cable runs ok- around the top of the screen and down the r/h side upright into the fuse compartment and to the cig socket.
switching on ya see (in the mirror) the start menu ready for pairing the mirror with your mobile or other device. multiple phones can be added. this went through easily and on testing gave a clear crisp audio sound.
so at the weekend (maybe earlier) i will be mounting the reverse sensor box in the boot then tap into the reverse circuit for the power, drill the holes for the sensors and connect up. the rear sensor box is wireless to the mirror and gives you a distance at the rear on the mirror display.
more to come.....
this is the same one in case your interested (ps im not on commission) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290080390448&ssPageName=MERC_VIC_RUPX_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=290079323924&itemcount=12&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&usedrule1=UpSell_LogicX&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget

Looks interesting... but I think I'll stick with my electrochromatic mirror and built-in Bluetooth car phone kit -- in both cars ;)
