Lo, he states that all the hard work is done.....I see hes even installed the fresh rust along the sill!
-
I had a Tickford 3.1 many moons ago.
Didn't handle, didn't stop, and didn't really go by todays standards.
There is also something amiss with that advert.
The seller claims the car makes 115BHP....a genuine RS 3100 (of which only 1000 were ever made) makes 148BHP.
I know Capri's (certain models anyway) are collectable, but they ain't collectable to the tune of £12,000 and never will be.
Whoever bids that amount needs to consider easing off the pharmaceuticals.
-
Well maybe I didn't look as closely as you Boyz but an RS 3.1 Capri would do me nicely thank you very much

115bhp............is 'dangle berries' ....................the old 3-litre Essex lump had 138 bhp................so the rare 3100...............should put out 150 or so. :y :y :y

I'd love that but my funds are for a new BM so no and the mrs. hated Capri's the stupid women (*ouch*)

Was reading in a book actually and it is 148 BHP :y Ain't it weird that big engine has exactly the same BHP as the 2.0 diesel in my BMW :o.

I admit i didn't look to closely at the advert, it isnt all it appears, just got he memories going, i had a MK1 3000 GLX capri many moons ago and it was massive fun, that was replaced by a MK 2 RS 2000, 186 BHP pinto on twin 48 webbers, straight cut rocket box, LSD etc etc, i spent every spare moment and bit of cash on that car, in its day (23 years ago) there was next to nothing that would live with it upto 100 mph and it went round corners like a rocket slid on rails, i only wish i had have kept it :'(

It was an open secret at the time that Ford used figures from blue printed engines which had been very carefully screwed together, and even then the figures were a bit doubtful.
Tbh 3.0/3.1 Capris were nothing special at the time even in a straight line, and would be dog slow by todays standards. The handling on Capris was atrocious btw. ;)
