Title: Previous Project - Peugeot 406
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 08 February 2007, 21:52:23
Apart from changing the clutch and headgasket on my old Rover 214 K series when I was 17, this was my first real project.

Peugeot 406, P reg, 1.8LX manual. Wouldn't go into gear. Turned out the clutch had seen the end of it's life, so I decided on a DIY replacement.

Seeing as I was only I think 18, I didn't do too badly, although obviously now I would do things a lot better!!

Pics below.

Had to replace the o/s driveshaft also, because the centre bearing took such a beating.

It fired up first time when the engine went back in though, and drove spot on, so I must have got something right.

Note this is the same crane I have used to lift Omega engines!

Two notes:

1) I'm not sure what's going on with me hugging that engine...
2) In case you're wondering, the writing on the barn wall is from a party, and it says funky!

Are these 2 things related?

From someone who breaks out in a cold sweat when I pop the bonnet, that's impressive  :y
Looks like you love it  :D

Partying, getting drunk, hence engine hugging...?

Well now you mention, my mate and I are quite partial to a few tins when we work on cars, especially so in the summer. Can't be good   ::)
