I wasnt planning on working this morning.....coz of the snow....and...RAC autowindscreens were coming to change the windscreen on my merc....so thought id stay cozy and warm.
About 10am RAC autowindscreens call me and say they carnt come out and can i bring it to the depot....ok i say be there in 20mins.
Merc wont start >:( .....flat battery.
So i take it off and shove a spare battery on it......only a 47AH battery but im hoping it will start a 2.2 diesel.....it does JUST.....so off to depot...after clearing all the snow off it..drop it off and get a taxi home.
Not too bad on the roads so decide to go out and do some work.....quite busy.
Merc is booked back in at MOT place at 2.30pm ....so im watching the time a bit.....at 2pm i head home to drop the omega off, get a taxi to RAC windscreens....and just as i get there, 2.30pm now, they have just finished it......chuck em £50 excess and off to MOT place.....get there 2.45pm, only to be told ive missed my slot and they carnt fit it again until the morning >:(
So ok my fault i was late :(
So i tell em to keep the merc and i'll drop by in the morning to collect it.......and get cab home
About 4.30pm i was passing the mot place and notice my merc had moved into the workshop......so i stopped and asked had they managed to fit it in.....yes was the answer were doing it now....great i replied....what time do you shut i'll pick it up later.....got told 5.30pm....ok i said i'll be back later.
So i got home at 5pm....and had a cab prebooked for 5pm pickup....told the driver if you can get me their in 20mins theres a good tip for ya......he did :y ......5.20pm we rolled up outside the garage.....only to find it was bloody closed!!! >:(
Ring the garage mobile number to find its turned off >:(
So had to ask the driver to take me home again.......
Ive spent the same on cabs today that ive earned :(
If 5.30pm is the closing time......then at 5.20pm they should still be open >:(
It should have gone ..... RAC windscreens turn up this morning after phoning my mobile to let me know their on the way......replace merc windscreen.....repair chip on omega windscreen (which never got done today).....then take it for 2.30pm booking at MOT place.....then bring it home.....its pretty simple....but went wrong and cost me >:(
Ok Rant over........taking bitch out for a walk now and then i'll think i'll treat myself to fish and chips supper from my fav fish and chip shop :) .

We've had rants before about sorry service in the UK. I don't blame them for not wanting to come out on a day like today, but the closing early thing is surprisingly common. You can be in the store at 4:45 looking at stuff and they will ask you to leave. You point out that the closing time is 5 (a separate lunacy), and they say that's irrelevant and they want you out? You just can't get good help and it's almost as hard to get rid of rubbish help.

I went into uni has some lectures, came out and joined a massive snow ball fight, must have been 100+ people there all throwing snow balls... everything time a bike came though someone shouted BIKE!!!!!!!!!! so we all pelt the Bike, on site maintenance van drives though campus (rascle things) we pelt that too..... had a good war going on until security turned up............. so we pelted them too! ;D

Wish I could have got out for fish and chips. was totally snowed in.
Had nothing better to do than remove LPG kits.... ;)

Didnt most of it melt during the day?
It did here......tho listening to the radio this morning....its very slippy out there this morning as the melting snow froze overnight....and more snow is forecast :o

Its been snowing most of the morning here, but not enough to build up much.....tho is covering the pavements and getting slushy on the side roads
