As i was searching for a mig and couldnt find one, found a couple (thanks to the guys that offered) but not exactly what i wanted.
One member offered me his but couldnt bear to part with it yet .... cant blame you ;)
So i have i am afraid gone for something that is different............. still right wheel drive though :D
It is this......

It has 132000 miles with jaguar service history upto 123000 , has mot till feb 2010 and tax till the end of september 2009, as it is a sport it dont have cruise or electric memory seats ..... but it has mint handling and tyres, and the acceleration for a 3.2 is amazing!!! - consiedering the weight!
It is completely standard has a multi changer in the boot, climate control thats sooooo cold, Its an auto but i paid £750 and it was 18 miles from home so i cant complain all in all i think i got a bargain.
Oh yeah and the mrn on the plate is cool, as my last name starts with N so i may space the plate to read MR N
Will post some more pics once clean :)

No doubt folk who know will tell you to the nearest minute when it's gonna fall to bits, but I like it. :y

Well i am sure they willbut it runs sweet as and may even splash out and ring Jag to see how much its 130k service will cost as apart from a not working ariel and sunroof and a TINY bit rust on one arch it is MINT!!!
glad you like it
-
need more pics please.... that is a lovely motor, esp. for £750. :y :y :y :y :y
-
very nice, i do like the XJ's
What kind of MPG do you get from it?
-
i love them too, theres a black 98 one up the rd and it looks the dogs testicles :y
-
nice motor MR N i like it :y :y
-
Good choice.......................but I would say that ;)
-
Will give it a wash at the weekend and get some proper pics up.... preferrably where Tina aint stamping on the brake pedal, as for mpg so far showing 18.9 but i have been playing in it , got an easy 130 out of it on a private motorway on the way home ;D, which annoyed Tina as her prelude is limited to 112mph ;D ;D
Cheers for the positives guys

Mick, I really do like Jag's myself a real nice choice mate in my opinion.
Hope she serves you well :y
-
Nice looking motor -- look forward to more pics :y
-
Looks good to me, and for that price :y
-
Something I have been looking at for a long time now. Maybe one day, but I just haven't got the room for a Mig and a Jag.
And what a steal at that price.

I rather hate them but, I am biased....I have had to work on them!
I hate them for the same reason I hate rather Land Rovers!

The welding is going fine....there is just to bloody much of it!
Got some aluminium sections to weld in next (the body has also got some corrosion)

That'll be fun on thin ally sheet! ;) ;) ;) ;)

Easy enough, a good brass heatsink on the rear of the weld area is the key and very clean (aluminium oxide melts at a higher temp than aluminium).
I dont mind welding aluminium although it is easier with a TIG!

Neither do I ....... but I prefer it a bit thicker than a car's door/etc skin!
I tried with gas once, about 30 years ago ........ lets just say, it wasn't successful! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I used to have one myself - Y Reg Sport - it was lovely.
I used to get about 25 mpg on motorways and about 19mpg around town averaging out around 22 or 23.
What I also got was 9 points in as many months :'( :'(
Tip for use - keep looking at the speedo - you will find yourself easily going a lot quicker that you think you are doing! ;) ;)

Beautiful - Im currently trying to convince the wife I am selling my x type sport for an XJ "R" 4.2 - she remains unconvinced...
...like its got anythign to do with her ::)

My Boss at the pub has got one of those Jags, and he's letting me borrow it in a couple of weekends time to take SWMBO away for a dirty wedding aniversary weekend without the kids. SWMBO doesn't know about it yet -Tee - hee :-X
-
Always had a soft spot for XJ's & yours looks a peach. Don't listen to the bad comms. Yes Jags have rust & build quality issues but any car has a bad side. Much as we love our Migs they're a pain in the arse at times & eat money like i eat curry.
Some folk forget that when being myopic. I was considering an XJ when i bought my first Mig, had a 1975 N reg MANY years ago. 8-)

nice car really nice but i would of got a 4.0 V8!!!!
what gadgets has it got?
-
Very nice, good price aswell, always thought that would be my next car, until the monaro and VXR8 came out ::)
-
Lovely :y :y
I'd love to get one of them in a couple of years, only in v8 form of course ::)
