Title: What do I do

I have a problem I own a Pajero 4x4 2.8TD which is a non runner due to head problems the car that is not me  ::)
 It has been stored at work in the car park for a while not in the way of anyone at all I have now been told I can not keep it there any longer .
 The car in running order is worth about £3000-£3500 but it would cost approx £1000 (which I do not have to spare) to get it back on the road what would you do any suggestions  :y

Worth putting on ebay as spare or repair with a reserve?

Someone will do the sums, have the cash/ parts and know they can get a decent motor less than they would normally pay... :-/

Although your not goign to get anywhere near what its worth  :(

It depends what length you want to go to to repair it, how skilled you are, and what you are wanting to do with the vehicle.

A. Get rid of it as is.
B. Fix it yourself (engine transplant) and keep.
C. Spend the 1k and look at it as an investment.

First off I would ask myself is it reaaly worth what I think it is worth moneywise. Just because we think a car is worth £x pounds does not make it so.
Although you may see cars advertised for high prices, does not mean they are selling for that price.
Maybe contact a few owners 4 or 5 days after they advertise there cars and just ask "is it still available" This will give you a realistic value of the vehicle.
Then weigh cost of repairs versus sale price in good condition, and as is.
See what it owes you, and how much you stand to loose.

Personally I think my Omega is easily worth £1000.00. Reality is would get £100.00 part ex and probably £300.00 in private sale.

Sorry if any of this sounds wrong/sarcastic/patronising, it is not meant to  :)

the engines are a piece of piddle to work on!! ask around see if anyone has a driveway or a garage where you can repair it, it would only be a couple of weeks at most!! refurb the head yourself, ake it to paynes of eynsham for the weldoing crack testing etc and get it done!! who told you it would cost a grand???? no way!!

I wanted about £1000 To get rid of it I have had some interest and people keep saying they will get back to me then never do , maybe ebay is the way to go . If the omega was worth more  I could sell that to get the money to sort the Pajero out but its worth bugger all .  :y

Hmm the mrs wants a shogun diesel again!!!
back in uk at end of may for a few months, have the workshop in swindon and a tranny breakdown truck or the trailer to pick it up on can you pm me the details mileage condition etc etc, might score some brownie points here!!! :y
p.s whats wrong with the head???

its the same on ebay mate they bid and win but dont turn up to pay . if had a grand mate id have it tomorro do the work and tow me caravan with it  :D ;D :y

When I brought the car it had supposed to have had a recon head fitted one of the reasons I first brought it ! it lasted about 8 months and popped the gasket that cost about £700 to sort out this lasted another 7 months and went again this time on the motorway towing the caravan , it actually exploded the radiator top off its been sat there at work since .  :'(

they must have done a shit job then who ever did it £700 id want thier blood  :( :(
