Title: Im not doing that again!
Post by: Taxi_Driver on 25 May 2009, 16:07:13
Changing a bulb in a microwave....
Its been blown a while and been annoying me...

Who ever designed my microwave was having a laugh!  >:(
"lets put a consumable item in a very inaccesable place, so that you have to remove 10 screws, remove a motor, remove the front panel, remove the door lock mechanism, as well as the cover.....oh and for good measure we will use razor sharp edge metal inside.....to enusre plenty of cuts and swearing"

"and just when the poor bastard thinks hes cracked it, we'll use a couple of security screws"

Well, I happened to have the correct screwdriver for the security screws and i got the last laugh......ive got a screw left over.. ;D ::)

Have you ever put a used bulb in the microwave.I wouldn't recommend to do it with a microwave you eat stuff out of ;D

At least you can see what it's not cooking !

People don't change bulbs anymore -- just throw it away and get a new microwave ( I bet some do that if a fuse blows too!!! )

Possibly the same person that designed the 'consumer unit' for my caravan. I had charging problems & had to drill out pop rivets to get inside it. Inside, on the main pcb board there's a ordinary glass fuse!  :-? :-? :-?

A new microwave is only £25 from Tescos, was it worth the effort?

Oh, as a sideline, do NOT put a mobile phone in the microwave.  I'm guessing its because frequencies are similar.  Apparently ::)

Obviously if I did know, I would say that 2s would be enough. Apparently...

And would it be a good idea to not be in the same room as the said microwave?  ;)  ;)

The repair company who had repeatedly said they could find no faults with it previously then conceeded they couldn't fix it...

Probably, as its a convection oven and grill as well and has functions on it, that cheap microwaves havent got  :y

True.  She caught me (mis)using her posh microwave a few months back, and went berserk. Esp as we also have a cheap £20 one as well for her fabric dying....

I've only ever owned 2 microwaves. The first i paid a tenner for & used it for years till the plastic in the door bubbled through age, the 2nd i was given years ago & still use now. £25 in tesco still seems alot of money!!! 8-)
